Personality[]
While initially being a figure who promises to save Halloween and bring children to have fun trick or treating, he has been shown to have major anger issues to the point he goes on to commit many crimes, including robbery and murder, as well as trapping the children with him so they can remain with their new "daddy" forever.
Biography[]
While Marge was gone to a costume party, Bart, Lisa and Maggie are bored, but someone knocks on the door, revealing himself as the Fat in the Hat, who offers the children to save Halloween by giving candy and sweets around Springfield, which they agree with. He then injects them with anti-mumps before they go out to do trick or treating. He then encounters Grandpa, who he easily knocks unconscious with his umbrella, which is full of gadgets.
When they arrive in the town, the Fat in the Hat starts to have many anger issues and highly unusual political views, making the children nervous. Eventually, he goes on to commit many crimes around Springfield, causing a Floop-Fluffle-cide murder spree and even robbing Apu, as well as blowing up the Town Hall and freeing all animals from the zoo.
Now that they realized their guide's psychotic behavior and the crimes he just committed, Bart, Lisa and Maggie attempt to escape on a Gumbammel and a Krumbull, who is unfortunately killed by Sideshow Bob. Despite this, they still manage to escape on a large Bee-Man back to the house. Their efforts were shown to be useless as the Fat in the Hat was waiting for them, refusing to leave them and revealing his true colors, planning to trap the children so they can remain as their new daddy for the rest of their lives. He is then impaled from behind by the umbrella held by Maggie, mortally wounding him. As he dies, he mentions that he is afraid of nothing, but he wishes to not be played by Mike Myers. His corpse was then turned into a rug by Bart, Maggie and Lisa, where they calmly wait for their mother to return home.
Trivia[]
- It is one of the only few times Homer is seen as a real villain, due to the fact that he caused terrorism to the town by blowing up the Town Hall and even his plan of trapping the children with him.
- The Fat in the Hat is a clear homage to Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat.
- Prior to his death, the Fat in the Hat wishes to never be played by Mike Myers. This is a reference to the infamous live-action adaptation of The Cat in the Hat, which starred Myers as the title character. Ironically, Dan Castellaneta (Homer's voice actor) starred in said movie as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
