Tamamo is the secondary antagonist of Yo-kai Watch: Forever Friends. She also appears in the video game Yo-kai Watch 4: We're Looking Up at the Same Sky as a boss in Chapter 7 as well as a playable character in the Yo-kai Watch: Puni Puni and (the now defunct) Yo-kai Sangokushi: Kunitori Wars mobile games.
She is a fox Yo-kai working for Shien who helps him collect souls. Her chosen method is to possess various women and girls and force them to commit suicide, claiming the lives of the relatives of protagonists Shin and Itsuki, causing the two to try and find a way to stop her.

In preparation for overthrowing his father, Shien tasked Tamamo with collecting souls to increase his power. In accordance with his orders, she set out to murder one hundred women and girls by possessing them and making them, usually right in front of their families, commit suicide in a variety of ways, always making sure to drop the possession right before the moment of death. She'd then remove their souls from their dying bodies. At some point, she possessed Itsuki's sister and had her climb a construction site before jumping off the top. Itsuki gave chase and jumped after her, resulting in both falling to their deaths. Tamamo claimed his sister's soul, but as he was a boy, had no interest in him, causing him to die a proper death. Later, she possessed Shin's mother and had run into the path of an oncoming vehicle, leaving her so she had just enough time to hear Shin calling out for her before she was run over by a truck.
Between her kills, Tamamo worked selling oban-yaki.
Trivia[]
- Tamamo has an altered design in the Chinese version of Yo-kai Watch 4, which removes her belly mouth and gives her softer features.
- Despite releasing in the Shadowside era, Tamamo turning into Tamamo no Mae is not classed as a Shadowside transformation, simply being labelled "Transform" in Yo-kai Watch 4 and breaking most of the trends associated with Shadowside merchandise.
