Robotnik, also known as Professor Robotnik, just Professor and formerly known as Professor Kintobor is the main antagonist of the two French comics/bandes dessinées Sonic Adventures published by Sirène: "Sonic Adventures: Dans Les Griffes De Robotnik" (In The Claws Of Robotnik) and "Sonic & Knuckles: Le Guide Ultime" (The Ultimate Guide) written and illustrated by Boldo and Mister B. and based on Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles.
He's based on the original Robotnik from the US promotional comic (much like his UK counterpart) and seems to take some influence from the contemporary AoStH and SatAM versions.

Much like other incarnations of Robotnik, especially the AoStH version which he greatly resembles, Robotnik is an overweight man with an orange mustache, a conical head, a drooping nose, white or red (depending on the panel) eyes with black sclerae and very small irises, a round body and wiry legs with gray boots and black pants.
He wears a red, black and yellow armor/bodysuit and a pair of gray gloves with metal gauntlets.
His overall silhouette resembles an egg even more so than his contemporary incarnations, with a large body and an especially tiny head, reminiscent of the modern Dr. Eggman.

This version of Robotnik is one of the doctor's most openly destructive incarnations, willing to lay waste to an entire continent in order to destroy Sonic.
He considers living beings to be useless, has no qualms about taking innocent lives and, additionally, is very short-tempered, as he cannot stand being insulted or talked back (or being reminded of Kintobor), and in response he will show no respect or empathy for those who offend him or generally anyone and everything else, abusing those who are against him both verbally and physically.
An especially sadistic moment is when he takes a photo to remember the moment Sonic died as he plummets into a volcano, planning to hang said photo over his chimney.
As is more standard, he is quite egotistical and desires to rule Mobius, showing an incredible appetite for dominance and power, though he is perfectly willing to do anything so carry out that goal, even if that means sacrificing a huge percentage of the planet.

Sonic brings up Robotnik's past.
While much of Robotnik's past is unknown, it's implied that he was once a kind scientist known as Kintobor who was looking for peace, and who at some point became responsible for giving Sonic his incredible speed. At some point he eventually became a power-hungry tyrant and started to plot for world domination.
For ages uncounted, Robotnik has been caught in ruthless battles with Sonic and his friends, who have always managed to stay safe and beat him on numerous occasions.
In The Claws of Robotnik[]
At some point, Robotnik's Badniks managed to capture Sonic on Angel Island, and brought him as a captive to Robotnik himself, getting onboard one of Robotnik's spaceships, likely his capital ship, monitoring Mobius from above.

Meeting up with the captive Sonic there, Robotnik celebrated and insulted the hedgehog, glad to have finally caught his nemesis, taking away the Magic Emeralds Sonic had on him in the process after the two archenemies had a little discussion as Sonic brings up all the good he, as Kintobor, was looking to do for Mobius.
Sonic breaks out of his restraints and manages to escape, knocking the Emeralds off Robotnik's arms and out of the ship down into Mobius and jumping out after them, with his friend Tails behind him to help break the fall.
Robotnik starts destroying the area Sonic is in.
Robotnik immediately gives chase with an army of Badniks, ordering them to scour and, if they must, pulverize the entire continent so Sonic doesn't escape.
During the search, Robotnik's forces find one of Sonic's allies, Amy, and Robotnik keeps her as a prisoner for Sonic to come, though Amy's snarky attitude almost gets the better of him. One of his Badniks then locates Sonic, and the army arrives at an ancient echidna city, still populated, and attacks it.
A battle ensues where Robotnik gets the gray Emerald and kidnaps Princess Alucion (who quickly manages to escape by biting Robotnik), as well as nearly kills Sonic and Amy by dropping them down into a volcano, a fate they manage to avoid with a ring portal. Tails, who didn't see them warp with the ring portal, is horrified at the loss of Sonic and Amy and the little princess, and swears vengeance on Robotnik, returning home to the Green Hill Zone to tell everyone what has happened.
Furious over losing the Grey Emerald since it fell alongside Alucion, who chose suicide over letting Robotnik have the gem, Robotnik headed home. Unbeknownst to him, Sonic has gained a golden armor, becoming Super Sonic, and is ready to defeat him once and for all.
Powers and abilities[]
On top of being a warlord, Robotnik is a genius, master mechanic, and an excellent pilot. He has built entire legions of robots called Badniks and massive ships which can soar the skies of Mobius and outer space.
His robots are no laughing matter, fairly competent and capable of causing great destruction across Mobius.

- Unlike other incarnations of Robotnik, this one is never specifically referred to as Doctor Robotnik, just Robotnik. Similarly, the Chaos Emeralds are only referred to as the Magic Emeralds.
- Much like his STC counterpart, his design is based off his AoStH one.
- His design is also similar to Obelix from another French comic book series Asterix, as both have orange facial hair and are obese.
