Richard "Ritchie" Doucet is a supporting antagonist in the 2016 video game Mafia III. He is a close ally of Don Sal Marcano and the Marcano Crime Family, as the head of the Dixie Mafia, who controls the Delray Hollow district of New Bordeaux after the death of Sammy Robinson.
He was voiced by Matt Lowe, who also voiced Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead: Destinies.
Biography[]
Ritchie Doucet is the boss of the Dixie Mafia, a criminal organization allied with the Marcano Crime Family, operating in the Delray Hollow district of New Bordeaux. After the heist of the Federal Reserve money which the Marcano mobsters performed with the help of the Black Mob, Doucet arrives with Sal and Giorgi Marcano at Sammy's in order to "get Sal's part". However, Giorgi grabs a pistol and shoots Lincoln Clay in the forehead, who unknown to them, survived by an inch.
Doucet then pulls out a knife and stabs Ellis Robinson to death while Giorgi kills Danny Burke and Sal kills Sammy Robinson. They then burn the place down and with the Black Mob down, the Dixie Mafia is given control of Delray Hollow by Sal and Doucet sets two Rackets, a Prostitution racket headed by Merle Jackson and a Smack racket headed by Charlie Kincaid.
Death[]
However, Lincoln survived (but barely) and is hellbent on vengeance against the Marcanos, desiring to take every single district and racket from them and then kill them. Allying himself with the Haitian Mob headed by Cassandra, Lincoln decides to take the Hollow first and eliminate Doucet for killing Ellis.
Lincoln then takes down the Prostitution racket and kills Jackson, restoring the whorehouse to its former state as a theatre once owned by Lincoln's stepmother. Lincoln then takes down the Smack racket and either kills Charlie or convinces Charlie to work for Lincoln, in which case Charlie Kincaid is later seen helping the Haitians make a new racket in marijuana smuggling. With both rackets gone, the Dixie Mafia have lost their grip on Delray Hollow.
Lincoln then goes to Cassandra's voodoo shop where she has a white man tied to a chair. The man identified himself as Jesse, who says he was walking in Delray Hollow when he was abducted by the Haitians. He admits to being in the Dixie Mafia but that he did so to support his aged mother. Jesse swears he has nothing against black people and the Dixies have not so much as issued him a firearm. Lincoln demands to know where Ritchie Doucet is, and Jesse replies that after the loss of the rackets, Ritchie could no longer afford to kick up to Giorgi Marcano, causing a falling out between the two men. Jesse also says that Ritchie salvaged whatever heroin he could in order to sell it and make enough money to skip town. Ritchie was last seen at Baron Saturday's Fun Park, a defunct amusement park on the boundaries between Bayou Fantom and Delray Hollow. Lincoln demands to know how many men there are, to which Jesse replies he does not know for sure, but he says it likely all the Dixies were mustered in order to prepare for Giorgi's attack. Lincoln then takes his combat knife and thrusts it toward Jesse. However, this is not to kill him, but cut the ropes and free him as he believes Jesse was being truthful. When Lincoln arrives at the amusement park, he overhears some Dixies talking about the plan to blow town, as well as their beliefs that Giorgi is a loose cannon. During the fight, some Dixies believe Lincoln was a hired gun, and remark that is typical of Giorgi to have other people take care of his problems.
Doucet is tracked down by Lincoln, who kills his guards and corners Doucet inside one of the Park's fear rides. Lincoln then drags Doucet all the way to the Ferris Wheel. Doucet says stealing heroin will have consequences, to which Lincoln said that is not why he is here. Lincoln tells him that he's going to pay for what he did to Ellis. Doucet realizes, too late, that Lincoln survived the fire. Ritchie attempts to cheese his way out by saying it was Sal Marcano's idea and he was just following orders. Lincoln remarks either Ritchie should have said no or ensure everyone did perish in the fire at Sammy's. Finally accepting that his last hour has come. Ritchie pleads to pray. Lincoln ties him one of the cabins of the ferris wheel and answers "You can pray on the way up", then activates the ride, lynching him.
Some time later, the gun battle came to the attention of the New Bordeaux Police, who investigated the scene and removed the bodies of the dead men. Doucet's hanged corpse was seen by FBI Agent Jonathan Maguire, who remembered the moment for his entire life. McGuire would study later murders committed by Lincoln and correctly remark that Doucet was killed through psychological warfare. Unlike mob battles, which tried to be as far away from the public eye as possible, this was done to expressly send a message to the underworld.
Personality[]
As the leader of a white supremacist gang, Ritchie comes off as racist and xenophobic who operates a prostitution racket forcing black women to be sex slaves to white patrons. He is also shown to be rather cowardly, as he often shifts the blame toward someone else for his mistakes, such as when he blamed Giorgi for ordering to murder of Ellis even though Ritchie was the one who personally murdered them.
