Lotara Sarrin is a supporting antagonist in Warhammer 40,000. One of the most notorious and powerful women in the galaxy, through her sheer ruthlessness and tactical brilliance she earned her place extremely high in the chain of command of the dreaded World Eaters Legion, serving as Captain of their flagship the Conqueror. Though a mortal woman, even the crazed sons of Angron came to respect and obey her command without question, and she was pivotal in many great successes their Legion had over the years. When the Horus Heresy began, she remained loyal to her Primarch became a heretic with them, though this would ultimately be her, and the Legion's undoing.
As the corruption of Khorne ran rampant throughout her beloved ship, Lotara was one of the last holdouts against the twisted power of The Warp, before ultimately succumbing. Her soul would then be fused with the machine spirit of the now nightmarish ship, and the famous Human warrior became a sadistic, insane, bloodthirsty specter known only as The Mistress.
Personality[]
Lotara was brutally efficient and extremely ruthless, showing no mercy to friend and foe alike. Extremely brilliant in warfare, she was a tactical genius and her strategies were crucial to many World Eater victories. Lotara commanded respect and instantly let anyone in the Legion know her wrath if they dared act against her orders, showing absolute fearlessness in the face of not just the World Eaters, but Angron himself. It was because of her lack of fear, ruthlessness and battlefield wits that gained her the respect of the Khorne infused warriors, with even Angron and Khârn respecting her and having amicable relationships with her as well. She was one of the exceedingly few beings in the entire galaxy who could actually scold Angron, with the Primarch enjoying her moxy and audacity.
When the influence of Khorne began to consume the World Eaters, Angron, and even the Conqueror, Lotara was one of the very last members who refused to succumb to it. Eventually though it claimed her as well, and the insane machine spirit of the flagship merged with her, becoming the psychotic revenant known as The Mistress. This fusion in a sense shattered Lotara's very soul, and remnants of her mortal life still haunt the halls of the ship, while the wicked wraith that sits upon the ship's throne barks orders and madness, still believing the Heresy to be in full swing despite it being 10,000 years later.
