James is a rude and uncaring bully who enjoys degrading others. He is also shown to not care about people’s feelings and he is aware of his friend David's abuse to Betsy and turns a blind eye to it.
Biography[]
In San Fernando Valley, 1965, James arrives at a diner with his friend David and the latter’s girlfriend Betsy. Kreese attends to their table and shares a kind glare with Betsy before David calls him a loser. James tells him that Kreese's mother committed suicide, for which David mocks him and calls him a freak, but Betsy reprimands David. A moment later, Kreese was tripped by David while carrying eating utensils to be washed, humiliating him in front of the whole diner and with everyone, including James, laughing at him.
As Kreese is later taking out the trash, he catches David smacking Betsy for looking at Kreese; John confronts him, the jock replies he has no chance with her and attacks him alongside James for getting involved. They brawl despite Betsy's pleas; at one point, when David is about to punch Kreese, Kreese ducks, and David ends up punching James instead. Thanks to his rough life, Kreese proves the more skilled fighter, telling David he's not scared of him before knocking David out. Ironically, Kreese ends up dating Betsy some point after this.
It is unknown what has become of James by the present day.
