Biography[]
Aldo Moltisanti was born to unknown parents along with his twin brother, Salvatore on April 28th in either 1901 or 1902 in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to the events of the film, Aldo became affiliated with the DiMeo Crime Family and was granted the nickname, "Hollywood Dick". Around this time, Aldo married Lena DeAngelis, and had two sons, one being an unnamed and unseen man, and the other being named Richard. Richard, later nicknamed as "Dickie" would live a similar life to his father's, with the only difference being that Dickie was made while Aldo wasn't. Despite never being made, Aldo was an extremely good earner and supplier of the Mafia, as well as also being well-loved by every member of the family. During the early-to-mid 1960s, Lena died of causes never stated in the series, widowing Aldo.
In 1967, Aldo returned from a lengthy trip he took to Italy where he met and married a young trophy woman named Giuseppina Bruno, who he brought to the States along with himself. Despite his love for her, Aldo grew increasingly agitated for her poor English even after taking classes for it and also for missing Janice Soprano's conformation party due to feeling embarrassed about not knowing enough English. Meanwhile throughout the film, Aldo is shown to be incredibly charismatic and affable, while also being short-tempered and arrogant.
On July 14th, Aldo started a loud argument with Giuseppina which he claims to be a normal occurrence when a man and a woman are married. Ultimately, Aldo kicked her down the stairs, showing little remorse for his actions. Later that night, Aldo and Dickie decide to drive to Rexell Pharmacy to pick up his new blood thinner medication where the topic of Aldo beating Giuseppina comes up. Dickie begins to bring up the memory of Aldo beating Lena in a similar fashion, which causes an argument between the father and son, with Aldo being unaware that Dickie had started an affair with Giuseppina. Soon, Aldo calls both Giuseppina and Lena, "sluts", which enrages Dickie, causing him to bash his head repeatedly into the steering wheel. This kills Aldo, devastating Dickie. Dickie brings Aldo to the Atta Boy Drainage Supply which was owned by Aldo. Dickie burns the place down, blaming it on the African-American riots that had been happening at the time of the story.
