Biography[]
The Story of Vox Machina[]
Brimscythe was a member of the Chroma Conclave, a quintet of the classic chromatic dragons. At one point, Brimscythe murdered General Krieg Tristan and kept his body frozen in his lair. After that, he took his form and took over his position at Tal'Dorei, thus, successfully earning Soveriegn Uriel's trust.

The Legend of Vox Machina[]
Brimscythe took the form of Krieg to appeal to Soverign Uriel, keeping his rampages a secret from him. He did so by encouraging him to send groups of warriors to handle the unknown threat to Emon. Each one that was sent, he would secretly kill in his dragon form and pretend to be upset about it as Krieg. When Vox Machina showed up before the council to offer their services, "Krieg" encouraged them to let them try.
When Vox Machina was sent forth, Brimscythe followed them, taking on his true form. He easily overpowered the party with his size and breath weapon, nearly killing them by shooting lightning at a mountain and trapping them under its rubble. Unbeknownst to him, Keyleth saved the party with her magic vines. Assuming they were dead though, Brimscythe returned to Emon and suggested Uriel send more forces to deal with the creature. When "Krieg" made camp with said soldiers, he encouraged them with a rousing speech about what was supposed to be their victory. He then went inside his tent. He then returned in dragon form and brutally murdered most of the soldiers. He then returned as Krieg to tell him what the monster was that was destroying everything.
Sir Fince was skeptical of Krieg and snuck into his home. Vox Machina saw this. believing Fince to be the culprit, they followed him. When they tracked him down, Fince tried to explain that Krieg was the real mole, but Krieg revealed that himself by impaling Fince with his sword, killing him, before rushing off. The party gave chase and found themselves in a magic room. Keyleth indirectly found the portal by throwing a book at Grog for obsessing over a pornographic painting. The book went through the portal and the party went inside.
At first, the party was ecstatic to find a treasure hoard before piecing one on one together and realizing this was the dragon's hoard. Krieg revealed his true form to them and fought against them once more. At first, he had the upper hand again. But Vax remembered advice given to him by Gilmore, and devised a plan with the party.
Scanlan performed an illusion spell that fooled Brimscythe into thinking he shot the party dead, only for the party to do the dragon in. Keyleth pinned one of Brimscythe's wings down with her magic vines, while Percy shot at rocks from above, pinning the dragon's other wing. Scanlan used "Scanlan's Hand" to throw Vax at the dragon, slitting his throat with his dagger. Pike then enchanted one of Vex's arrows to tear threw the injury in his neck. Finally, Grog charged the dragon in a rage, splitting Brimscythe's head open with his greataxe, finally slaying the creature, ending his reign of terror and avenging all of his countless victims before taking one of Brimscythe's teeth as proof that they killed him.
Personality[]
As Krieg, Brimscythe presents himself as a polite and open-minded gentleman who was very interested in what Vox Machina had to say, even giving them a chance to slay the unknown beast when the rest of the council wouldn’t.
His true personality is that of a sadistic, greedy, misanthropic, arrogant, and psychopathic dragon who takes pleasure in plundering treasure and killing people, including children, much like any other chromatic dragon. As Krieg, he manipulated a squad of his own soldiers into believing that they will kill the beast by giving them an encouraging speech before later returning in his true form and brutally and sadistically killing most of them. He also enjoyed corrupting and tricking people, as he managed to manipulate Sovereign Uriel for a long time in his human form, leading to Uriel abdicating the throne after the truth was revealed. Brimscythe's treachery extended to even his fellow Chroma Conclave members, intending to seize Emon for himself rather than handing it to Thordak as per their agreement leading to the latter plotted his assassination — a decision which proved unnecessary thanks to Vox Machina's unexpected intervention.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a blue dragon, Brimscythe can fly at massive speeds and can produce powerful windstorms with his wings. He can also shoot powerful bolts of lightning from his mouth which can level forests and shatter mountains. These last two abilities grant him the moniker, "The Iron Storm".
He also possesses shapeshifting abilities as he took General Krieg's form after slaying him. In that form, he is well acquainted with using a sword.
Trivia[]
- Despite being technically the youngest of Chroma Conclave, Brimscythe is arguably a prodigy among blue dragons, at least when it comes about mastering shapeshifting, as members of kind are strong enough to assume such ability upon reaching adult to ancient years. This may very well one of reasons Raishan recruited him to begin with.
- For his appearance in The Legend of Vox Machina, Brimscythe received a redesign to make his appearance more distinct as with other members of Chroma Conclave. In this case, it is influenced by different animals including lions and sharks. He also lacks a single horn found in typical blue dragons.
