Bjorn Johansson, also known as Gingerbread, is a major antagonist in the 2022 Christmas action-comedy movie Violent Night.

He is portrayed by André Eriksen, who also played Colten Schneider in Mayhem.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

In 1982 when he was a child, Bjorn wrote a letter to Santa Claus 50 times a year asking for a Huffy bike. It's implied he had a good childhood unlike his boss.

Violent Night[]

In 2022, Bjorn became a mercenary working for Jimmy "Mr. Scrooge" Martinez who gave all his henchmen Christmas-related codenames, Bjorn's being "Gingerbread". He posed as a butler for the Lightsones in preparation to rob them on Christmas. On the night of the robbery, Gingerbread punches out the security guard in charge of monitoring the cameras and signals Mr. Scrooge to start the invasion. He alongside the rest of Mr. Scrooge's henchmen hold the Lightsones hostage in their mansion demanding all the money from their vault.

Suddenly, he, Mr. Scrooge, Candy Cane and Frosty notice that Tinsel was impaled on an icicle after falling out the window. They look the security cameras and see a man dressed as Santa Claus wandering around. Mr. Scrooge tries to call Frosty, but Santa answers the radio and reveals he killed Frosty by jamming a Christmas star in his eye and plugging it in. He demands that Scrooge leaves the Lightsones alone and threatens to come for him personally.

Mr. Scrooge eventually captures Santa and interrogates him with Candy Cane and Gingerbread. Santa claims he is the real Santa Claus and backs up his claim by addressing the mercenaries by their real names, as well as revealing that Gingerbread wrote him a letter asking for a bike when he was a kid. Candy Cane and Gingerbread start to believe he's the real Santa while Mr. Scrooge dismisses it as a coincidence and throws Santa's bag in the chimney. Just as Mr. Scrooge is about to kill Santa, the mercenaries are suddenly distracted by what appears to be snow coming from the inside. However, Mr. Scrooge realizes it's just styrofoam being blown through the air vents from the attic by the Lightstones' youngest daughter, Trudy. Gingerbread then notices Santa teleport through the chimney and is even more convinced that he's real.

Candy Cane and Gingerbread go to the attic to kill Trudy. Gingerbread tries to climb up the ladder, only for a step to break and for him to impale his jaw on a nail. Candy Cane goes after Trudy herself while Gingerbread removes his chin, only to get hit on the head by a bowling ball knocking him into a carpet full of nails, causing him even more pain. When he gets up and pulls out the last nail from his butt to look at it, another bowling falls through the attic and accidentally jamms the nail into his forehead, killing him.
