Mr. Millet has been hunted down for the soul to be collected for the following reason(s): While he IS a villain, he’s bog-standard as him almost endangering everyone at the parade was accidental and his remaining intentional crimes are not baseline-passing at all. He needs to go. Please discuss it on the talk page for this article. |

Mr. Millet is the main antagonist of the 1998 movie Barney’s Great Adventure: The Movie. He is a birdseed truck driver who is implied to have a friendship with Mrs. Goldfinch as he is her personal delivery man.
He was portrayed by Rock Jutras.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- Unlike Cody who was just a jerk for the most part and the Collector who only captured Twinken’s egg without intending to harm it, Mr. Millet is presented as a genuinely villainous character with no confirmed redeeming qualities and he is more heinous than both Cody and the Collector as he almost put an entire crowd of people in danger of being killed at a parade even if it was unintentional.
- While he is shown to have some friendly interactions with Mrs. Goldfinch, their relationship isn’t given enough context as it’s presented as a boss and servant type of relationship rather than a friendship.
- Before leaving Mrs. Goldfinch’s house after dropping off birdseed, Mr. Millet drove away with Twinken the Dream Maker’s egg inside a barrel, meaning he kidnapped him.
- Even when Barney, Cody, Abby and Marcella kept calling him to give Twinken’s egg back, he refused to listen and kept driving.
- He cooked a meal for himself while driving even though he could have endangered several people if he did so.
- He tried to take a bite out of his burger while driving, only to realise he is heading right towards the Apple Parade which could have put all the visitors in danger of being run over, causing a policeman named Officer McQuade to blow his whistle in order to stop Mr. Millet from disrupting the parade.
- In his last onscreen appearance, he shows no remorse for the crimes he has committed, and while he does look sad when seeing his food fly everywhere in his truck, this is more karmic than sympathetic.
- His act of stealing Twinken’s egg resulted in it falling out of his truck while the egg was stored in a barrel of birdseed and slightly ruining the Apple Parade by rolling away and breaking down a fence to avoid drivers from entering the parade. This also caused Barney to interrupt the parade and try to find an egg only to end up crashing into a balloon man and getting him temporarily stuck in a barrel, though the guests were not too bothered by Barney interrupting the parade.
- Although he has very limited screentime, it’s made clear he is only affable to Mrs. Goldfinch and no one else, preventing him from being insufficiently characterized.
Why Doesn’t He Stand Out?[]
- Despite being the only villain in the movie, he is bog-standard, as he was completely unaware that he was kidnapping Twinken and him almost endangering everyone at the Apple Parade was a complete accident, with the rest of his villainy amounting to generic reckless driving and theft.
- He is played for laughs too much to be Pure Evil or Near Pure Evil, with many comedic moments such as:
- Him failing to notice Barney the Dinosaur while greeting Mrs. Goldfinch.
- Him having no idea that he abducted Twinken and driving away casually as if nothing happened.
- Him not listening to Barney, Cody, Abby and Marcella when they yelled at him to give Twinken’s egg back.
- Him preparing a meal for himself while driving and smiling about it innocently.
- Him trying to dunk a scoop of vanilla ice cream into his cup, but then changing his mind and going with chocolate ice cream instead.
- Him literally taking a sip of his milkshake while in the driver’s seat.
- Him putting a bunch of fries in a bucket and flipping a burger while driving.
- Him attempting to eat his burger only to realise he is heading towards the Apple Parade and showing a shocked face with wide eyes at Officer McQuade blowing a whistle to warn him to slow down his truck.
- Him panicking while desperately trying to drive out of the way of the Apple Parade and screaming while doing so.
- His defeat with him acting flustered as his food and drink fly all around his truck.
- Him shivering with fear in his truck while the vehicle was turning around to come to a stop only for Twinken’s egg to fall out of the truck and roll away right into the parade.
- His last scene that has him being relegated to a laughingstock as Barney forgives him while Cody, Abby and Marcella don’t even bother to check on him if he’s okay after being forced to stop his truck, as they were too busy riding on Agnes the Horse to pay attention to Mr. Millet.
Trivia[]
- There was originally a scene where Mr. Millet used a grinder to cut down his meat for his burger, which was cut from the final movie for obvious reasons. Had it been used, it would have made Mr. Millet even worse as he would still continue to not focus on the road while driving and continue cooking. Plus, the scene wasn’t suitable for children.
- However, it’s unknown if he would have passed the baseline if the scene was included in the final movie, as there is not enough evidence to confirm that he knew he was endangering people by driving and cooking at the same time.
