Topography[]
Briefing[]
Location: Frozen Canal
Description: Imperial Forces are amassing on the frozen canal. Break through them and capture the enemy's main camp within 5 turns. Camps are spread out and enemy artillery will be aimed at you, so move your units swiftly yet carefully.
Strategy[]
- Behind the first snow piles are 3 anti-tank mounted guns. The second set has 4 snipers. The third set has two anti-tank mounted guns on the right and 3 snipers on the left, who can also slightly see the right side. Take care in moving past these.
- There are Grenadiers behind each snow pile to the side; all have anti-tank AP down mortars. Using the Bombardment Ship Command is the easiest way to clean them out without risking units or wasting AP. Do not waste it on the first one, as that one can easily be attacked.
- Utilize the Hafen to clear the way while the Cactus has at least an Engineer for repairs a tank destroying unit to help clear the way.
- Assault tanks are hard to hit with Grenadiers, and hard to move around with Lancers. Consider going around them.
- The Imperial team starts with 9 CP. The leaders locations are:
- Two Assault Tanks: Left side of the first area together.
- Sniper: Leftmost in the second area, right behind the second snow pile.
- Grenadier: In the third area, right side. Please confirm
- Ace Tank: In the third area, left side. Visible from the second area.
- This guide assumes everything is fully upgrades!
The destination camp is also a very far target and you will be blocked by large chunks of snow. This can be cleared by throwing a grenade or have the tanks roll over them. The problem is as soon you crush through the snow, your tank will be immediately targeted by enemy grenadiers, anti-tank cannon, this can be dangerous and you should proceed in this map with caution. Anyways, start the mission by moving the Hafen north and crush the snowdrift, then aim for the AT Cannon directly to your center and destroy it. The Hafen should be in a good position to use the Bombardment order to hit the enemies in the upper right corner. This should at least remove the grenadiers from the first section of the map. However, you will need to destroy all AT cannons before you can proceed further. Once they're all destroyed, head as much northeast as you can with the Hafen.
Now switch to the cactus, then pick up some of your soldiers, this includes a lancer, sniper (anti-tank) and Riley, and any extra unit if you need. Head to the northeast and kill the nearest enemy unit around you when you run out of AP. Make sure the shocktroopers are dead and the enemy lancer as well. Then keep going north until you're behind the enemy tanks and deploy your lancer or the sniper with from here to destroy the enemy tanks from their rear. Minerva should also use her direct command to go after the camp to the left side, there is a lone scout guarding that camp. If you're run of CP, try capturing the camp on the next turn.
On the next turn, move the Hafen and destroy the snowdrift on the center of the map, you can either shoot it with your cannon or try to crush it. The second half of the map has four snipers line up beside sandbags and a grenadier next to them. If the Hafen is close enough, you can use the Bombardment order to wipe them out. Then use another CP to aim for the AT Cannon northeast between the tanks.
The next obstacle will be an enemy grenadier hiding to the upper left side of the map, you can bring Minerva over to kill him, or you can try to use your sniper to snipe him. Once this is done, bring the cactus to the west side map and kill the enemies stationed there so that you can capture it. When that is captured, deploy your sniper equipped with an anti-tank rifle to kill the enemy ace tank north of the second camp. You can also use Riley as well. Killing the ace will give you the Reinforced Frame for the Cactus. Once that is done, use the order fortify armor on the Cactus so that it doesn't get blown up by the enemy tanks from the northeast side.
On the next turn, if the Cactus is still alive, have it move behind the enemy tanks located northeast. Then use the Order, All Unit Defend, and deploy your lancer to destroy the enemy tanks from behind. Once that is taken care of using a spare rocket to destroy the snowdrift northeast. When that is done, have Minerva rush to the last camp by hugging to the east side of the map. If her AP runs low, use the Direct Command on her to fully restore her AP. If the snowdrift to the northeast corner hasn't been destroyed, use a grenade to blow it up The last camp has no one guarding it, so it should be easy to perform the scout rush tactic after the obstacles from earlier have been removed.
