Riosa Punch was a type of sweet beverage made on the Inner Rim industrial world Riosa, the inhabitants of which had turned to crafts like fermenting meads and distilling fancy liqueurs after the collapse of the Galactic Empire led to work drying up in their factories. It was a red drink served in a glass with red chunks and ice as well as a red fruit garnish. Although not as intoxicating as other beverages brewed on the world, Riosa Punch was able to cheer up those who drank it and left them feeling good about life.[1]
In 35 ABY,[2] the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs included a recipe for Riosa Punch in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which he wrote after taking a culinary tour of the galaxy[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY.[2] In the book, Tuggs pointed out that if the Riosan drink could bring cheer to the worn down citizens of Riosa, it would do even more for his readers.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Riosa Punch was created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the beverage makes use of ice, frozen and diced dragonfruit, lychee, pineapple juice, coconut water, lime juice, lemonade, and then another piece of dragonfruit for garnish.[1]
