The Miraluka were a near-human sentient species that existed in the galaxy.[3] They had tanned brown skin, gray[1] or white hair, and did not possess eyes.[2] One Miraluka was Prosset Dibs, a member of the Jedi Order[3] who went on a mission to the planet Hissrich with the Jedi Master Mace Windu and two other Jedi.[1] He turned against his comrades after discovering what he perceived as the Jedi Council's intentions to exploit Hissrich.[4] Following the fall of the Jedi Order, Dibs was a part of the Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius, taking the name Tenth Brother.[2] The Tenth Brother traveled to the planet Mon Cala with Darth Vader and two other Inquisitors to hunt a surviving Jedi.[5] He was killed when the Jedi at hand turned his Purge Troopers against him.[6]
Behind the scenes[]
In Legends, the Miraluka species' first appeared in the comic Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Freedon Nadd Uprising in 1994, not appearing in Star Wars canon until August 30 2017[7] with the release of the comic Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu written by Matt Owens and illustrated by Denys Cowan. They were first mentioned in an article on the official Marvel website.[8]
Miraluka as a species are known for not having eyes. They generally possess only vestigial eye sockets, which they usually cover for social reasons. In Legends they compensate for this lack of physical vision with a form of Force Sight, although the strength of their connection to the Force still varied by individual. This has yet to be established in the current continuity.
