A lockpick set was a tool kit containing various tools to assist in opening mechanical locks. They typically contained a collection of probes, tension spanners, and lockpicks. While lockpick sets were commercially available for 50 credits, most were put together personally by hobbyists, locksmiths, infiltrators, and lockbreakers, who added their own custom tools to bypass electronic locks.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Lockpick sets were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Cyphers and Masks,[1] a 2018 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2] They originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity as lock-picking kits, and were first mentioned in Heroes & Rogues, a 1995 roleplaying supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, published by West End Games and written by Rick D. Stuart and Paul Sudlow.[3]
