Allya was, according to a commonly told story, a female Jedi whom the Jedi Council sent into exile on Dathomir,[2] in 600 BBY.[1] There, she allegedly trained other women in the ways of the Force, ultimately giving birth to the Dathomirians,[2] who eventually splintered into clans of witches.[1] However, the Jedi Council had no such records, and the Dathomirians had other, contradicting stories about their origins.[2] Allya wrote the Book of Law, a book which portrayed the Jedi Order in a bad light, causing the Nightsisters to have little respect for the Order.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Allya was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 59th issue of the 2016 magazine, Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon. She initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity in The Courtship of Princess Leia, a 1994 novel written by Dave Wolverton and published by Bantam Spectra.[3]
