It is a concept album centered around Bikini Bottom 's local radio station WH2 0 playing the greatest hits of SpongeBob and company's new band, SpongeBob and the Hi-Seas. Each song is book-ended by a short interlude from the radio station, as DJ and host The Tuneful Tuna announce each upcoming song - usually accompanied by various humorous events, such as advertisements, a weather report, and even a hijacking of the radio station by Plankton .
The songs themselves are all sung by various main characters of the show, and span multiple genres, including garage rock and psychedelic pop.
