Spaces,[1] also referred to as Game Board Spaces, are game elements that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are special places found on Boards that are used in gameplay for specific tasks.
Overview[]
In Sonic Shuffle, Spaces serve to the same purpose as the areas from a board game. When a player stands on top of a Space, a specific action will occur. Spaces can be used by the player to gain advantages or disadvantages against opponents. They are available on every Board in Sonic Shuffle. The Space the player will stand on top is determined by the value of the Magical Card the player gets.

These Spaces are available on every Boards, and are usable to every character:

Minus Ring Space[1] (マイナスリングマス[2] Mainasuringumasu?, lit. "Mínus Ring") | Normally, the player will lose three Rings if they land on a Minus Ring Space. Once the final Precioustone has appeared, this number will double. | |
Battle Space[3] (バトルマス[4] Batorumasu?, lit. "Battle") | Land on one of these to trigger a battle with a Maginaryworld monster. The monster is specific to the board that the player is on. The type of monster does not affect the gameplay. The monster has a card of its own, which is used for its health and attack power. The player must pick a card that is either equal or higher than the number of the monster's to defeat it. Once a card is selected it will spin rapidly from 1 to the number.
