“ | This ridiculous, fragile Autobot-Decpticon alliance has destroyed but a fraction of my empire's total force. Irritated rather than wounded. Rest assured, Rook, the day of reckoning will come! | „ |
~ Liege Maximo at the end of the original G2 comic book series. |
Liege Maximo is the overarching antagonist of the 1993 limited The Transformers: Generation Two comic book series, the sequel to Marvel's 1984 The Transformers comic book series. It was one of the Thirteen original Primes, who shunned Primus' light to become an evil god, and is the master of Jhiaxus and the true leader of the Cybertronian Empire.
While having only just appeared in the final issue of Generation Two and doing nothing of note itself, he reappears as the main antagonist of the non-canon novella Alignment, which was written to complete all loose ends left by the cancellation of Generation Two, therefore expanding on the Liege Maximo's depravity and giving him the acts to be heinous enough to count.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Understanding that his destiny is not chosen by Primus but itself, it shunned Primus' light out of will and embraced its darkness in a desire to be a powerful god of its own right.
- Its selective spawning of offspring leads to the gene pool being tainted by the its evil, leading to the rise of Megatron and the Decepticons as his descendants and the Transformers race descending to war and countless deaths across Cybertron and other planets as a result. The Liege Maximo is aware of the damage his actions caused and watched everything happen with a sense of apathetic superiority.
- Orders Jhiaxus to strip countless planets of all life and mechaform them to form a structure of interconnected planets called the Hub. The amount of planets mechaformed is enough to make up over a galaxy.
- Taking advantage of the alignment, the Liege Maximo attempts to use the Hub to create a portal to the realm of the gods to achieve godhood, having no concern that the creation of the portal will lead to the very annihilation of its home universe and all life in it as a result.
- Orders its fleet to wipe out the Transformers race as a whole to ensure they don't interfere, leading to thousands of soldiers, Autobot & Decepticon, being killed.
- Kills millions of its own minions and use their very sparks to power the portal.
- Kills Grimlock and Megatron for trying to prevent his ascension.
Trivia[]
- The Liege Maximo was eventually used as the basis of fellow Transformers Pure Evil who was once one of the Thirteen Primes, the Fallen.
