“ | Emirate Xaaron: Can't you see? The reactor is old, outmoded and dangerous! It'll destroy Cybertron! Didn't that explosion three weeks ago tell you anything? Won't you listen to reason? Flame: Ha, ha! In a word... no! |

~ Flame's utter disregard for life as he ignored Emirate Xaaron's warnings about how the old reactor is dangerous enough to destroy Cybertron. |
Flame is a minor antagonist in the UK run of Marvel's The Transformers series, serving as the main antagonist of 4-issue "City of Fear" arc. Once a close colleague of Emirate Xaaron and a scientist working for the Academy of Science and Technology, Flame suggested using Megatron's plans for turning Cybertron into a cosmic dreadnought and alter it to explore the galaxy, but was discharged when Xaaron objected that the plan is far too risky and that it would cause the very destruction of Cybertron. Upon faking his death, Flame continued his illegal research to finally prove himself right.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Despite being an Autobot, Flame completely lacks any sort of value to life the rest of them have, being simply a spiteful egomaniac.
- Flame continues activating the engines to turn Cybertron into a mobile spacecraft despite multiple clear warnings that the engines are far too unstable and that they would destroy Cybertron, knowingly dooming the entire Cybertronian race just to stroke his own ego.
- Displays no remorse at all when one of his tests lead to a huge explosion in the city of Kalis, killing hundreds of civilians present, and tries to cover up his very involvement in it to continue running his dangerous tests.
- In order to ensure nobody comes to find out about his plans, he uses a brainwashing wave to resurrect corpses littered all across Cybertron as zombified slaves, all in a state of constant pain and actually have some sort of awareness of their state as seen with Impactor, using it to trigger the zombie apocalypse to keep everyone off his trail.
- As he began activating the engines, he was extremely gleeful at the thought of Kalis being destroyed entirely in the process.
- While briefly considering to shut down the reactor, not only was it just to prevent it from having a meltdown, but it only lasts for 2 panels before trying to foil Xaaron's attempt to shut it down and save Cybertron from destruction for trying to steal his glory, and would've succeeded, had Impactor not sent a spear through Flame's head, killing him for good.
- Despite the high heinous standards of the comics, Flame stands out for the massive scale he has for someone who is just a mere arc villain that only appears for three-issues, having much more scale than majority of the villains in the series.
Trivia[]
- He and Movieverse Sentinel Prime are the only Transformers Pure Evils so far to be Autobots.
