“ | Did you really think you'd be able to burn me... with YOUR pathetic flames?! You Burnish really are just a bunch of fools! Ah, indeed. I was cursed with the same mutation, THAT'S why I understand! Yes, I understand how difficult it is to have a strong enough will to control the flames, as well as to control the urge to burn everything to the ground! The Burnish live under the control of the Promare! They're nothing but slaves to their instincts! THAT'S BECAUSE I AM!!! Don't even try, my Burnish power is far greater than yours will ever be! But still, as long as I have you, I can harness your power to restart my Prometech engine. YOU'LL be the engine's core now! I thank you! | „ |
~ Kray Foresight revealing himself as a Burnish and plans to use Lio Fotia's power to restart the Prometech regime. |
“ | From the very moment we met, I've hated the sight of you. I had my first Burnish spasm when I was a student. I was trying to hold back the flames, But I couldn't. No, it was a complete accident. But it was a good opportunity to build up my reputation. I had you placed in Burning Recuse, because it's the job with highest mortality rate. I wanted to get rid of you, but you kept surviving and you kept coming back! My life has always gone according to plan, except when it comes to you! YOU'RE NOT JUST AN IDIOT, YOU'RE A CANCER! This is the end for you!! | „ |
~ Kray Foresight reveals the truth to Galo Thymos. |
Kray Foresight is the main antagonist of the 2019 Studio Trigger film Promare. He is the ruthless Burnish administrator of Promepolis and chief director of the Foresight Foundation. He successfully developed and invented materials that can put out Burnish fires. Galo looks up to him, hence being pulled from a fire by Kray when he was young.
He was voiced by Masato Sakai in the Japanese version, and Crispin Freeman in the English dubbed version. The latter also voiced Firefly in Batman: Arkham video game series and Sundowner in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Conducted cruel experiments on the Burnish to use as fuel for his Promatech engine that would slowly kill them, all despite being Burnish himself.
- Killed his former colleague Deus and stole his inventions, passing them off as his own.
- Imprisons Galo when he tries exposing Kray's misdeeds.
- Despite that it was an accident, he caused the fire that gave Kray publicity by "saving" Galo, the movie's main protagonist, only saving him just to build a reputation. Later on, it is revealed that he had Galo become a firefighter because Kray wanted to get rid of him.
- Has a Burnish sanctuary attacked and destroyed.
- His experiments led to magma levels accelerating, therefore threatening the Earth with a global apocalypse, with his motives being to power a warp engine that he could use to evacuate the Earth from the rising magma levels, which made his entire plan ironic. Despite Kray's intentions to save humanity, he only does it to be revered as a savior over all those he personally selects to board his ship, abandoning the rest of humanity to die, just to satiate his god complex.
- Despite Kray's claims to have only wanted the survival of humanity, all he is revealed to be is just a glory hound with a god complex, forgoing much less bloody ways of stabilizing the magma just so his own method would end up being used and he can simply be hailed a hero. This was all proven true when Galo and Lio ended up saving the world through much less bloody ways by stabilizing the Earth's magma instead and save the world from destruction, all he could do is just enviously scowl at them for taking the glory he wanted.
