Long Ago is the fourteenth episode of Power Rangers Mystic Force. It features both the introduction (via a return) of Daggeron and therefore the debut of his Ancient Mystic Mode and Solaris Knight forms and the Laser Lamp's Blaster form. It also goes further into the mystery of Udonna's lost child Bowen and hints that Phineas is connected.

Synopsis[]

An old friend of Udonna's returns, but Clare doesn't seem to trust him. A mysterious frog saves Madison in battle, but there is more to him than meets the eye when she kisses it and unexpectedly breaks a curse morph spell that reveals the frog to actually be a warrior. Can Udonna really trust Calindor?

Plot[]

Imperious and Necrolai are in the pit. Through the seal, Jester is released - Imperious knew Jester would do his bidding now that he has freed him; he wants Jester to wreck Briarwood and gives him a pen to help him - Jester immediately leaves to do Imperious' bidding. Necrolai, who has been watching, asks Imperious about the Rangers, who she tells must be destroyed - Imperious isn't concerned: his plan will wreck the city and undermine the Rangers.

At Root Core, Udonna has the teens going through some trust exercises, which are going well until Clare walks in with baby Fire Heart - the boys & Vida then surround Clare and coo over Fire Heart; Madison, unaware, continues with the exercise and lands on the floor - Udonna then helps her up. The crystal ball alerts the teens to dark magic in the woods and they immediately leave to investigate.

Soon a strange creature appears and the teens prepare to do battle - they are set to morph, when Udonna stops and informs them the strange creature is a friend of hers: the creature reveals himself to be Calindor, who Udonna both introduces to the teens and then tells that the teens are the Mystic Warriors; hiding in the bushes is Phineas who is worried about what he has seen.

Udonna and the teens take Calindor to Root Core, but as they enter, Clare alerts them to trouble in the city - the teens immediately morph and, via their Mystic Racers, fly out. Udonna introduces Clare to Calindor, who Clare is refered to by as a bumbling servant, and Clare doesn't appreciate this reference. Calindor takes a look at the crystal ball, which Clare comments alerts them to dark magic; next she notes that there was dark magic in the woods just before Calindor appeared. Suddenly the crystal ball fills with dark magic once more, this time in Root Core - alarmed, Clare calls Udonna over. Calindor manages to clear the crystal ball, which, when Udonna looks at, is now normal; Udonna assumes Clare was simply excited, but Clare knows what she's seen. Calindor continues to stroll around Root Core, looking at various items. Jenji peeks out of his lamp and becomes alarmed - before he can alert Udonna and Clare, Calindor places a large book on top of the lamp, trapping Jenji. Udonna walks over and Calindor tells her he has bad news for her: he tells her that Daggeron betrayed them and succumbed to dark magic, before next telling her also that this was how he was cursed and trapped in the cave, never aging - she is stunned and can't instantly believe that Daggeron would possibly betray them; to make matters worse, Udonna doesn't hear Jenji's muffled attempts to alert her to danger.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are having a difficult time in their battle against Jester. There are two people dangling from a railing and the Rangers are in a dilemma. Jester continues to battle the Rangers, using several tricks on them. The two people can no longer hang on and begin to fall - Madison spots them falling and races over, successfully catching and then urging them to run to safety. The battle continues until Jester vanishes. The Rangers walk over to a strange drawing Jester had done on the pavement - they can't make any sense of this sight.

In the woods, Clare is taking a walk and not to happy with Calindor before she and Phineas bump into each other and then walk together, commenting on Udonna's friend. Phineas tells Clare that he doesn't trust Calindor; Clare is surprised and asks Phineas how he knows him - he answers how Calindor betrayed the Mystics and he knows because he was there; Clare takes off running to instantly warn Udonna.

Inside Root Core, Udonna is still stunned by the news of Daggeron's betrayal and surprised that the Xenotome didn't tell her - Calindor asks about the Xenotome which Udonna explains is what gives the Rangers their powers and has all knowledge before he next tells her he has a lot to learn from the Xenotome; he offers to get Udonna tea while she looks through the Xenotome's pages.

Meanwhile, the teens are working at Rock Porium; they are trying to figure out what to do about Jester since he is still loose. The frog from the cave clambers onto Madison's shoulder - this causes her to shriek with terror before she comments that she has been afraid ever since Vida put a frog down her dress; Vida can't believe after all this time that Madison is still scared of frogs. The teens chase the frog all over the store, unable to catch it; they make a lot of noise and Madison tries to keep away from the commotion. Toby steps out of his office and both sees and attributes all the chaos to the power of Rock and Roll.

Back at Root Core, Calindor walks towards Udonna with the tea and insists she takes a particular goblet - she has the goblet to her lips when Clare races in and hollers at her to stop; Udonna is bewildered by Clare's behavior as Clare jumps on top of Calindor and shouts that it was Calindor that betrayed the Mystics. As Clare struggles with Calindor, the goblet is knocked out of Udonna's hand and lands on a book - the liquid from the goblet pours out and a strange foam appears on the book: she realizes that Clare is right. Calindor shakes off Clare who runs to Udonna's side and they receive a shock as Calindor reverts himself to Imperious. Udonna springs into action with a spell which Imperious blocks and then casts his own before she urges Clare to help: Clare casts a spell and Imperious vanishes - Clare is pleased with herself until Imperious comes up behind her and casts another spell towards her and Udonna which leaves them unable to move; he then goes to the Xenotome to retrieve its knowledge, but it has a protection spell upon which he casts a breaking spell.

Meanwhile, inside the Rock Porium, the teens hear people screaming outside, morphing instantly as they see what is happening, and soon they are facing down Jester; Madison figures out what he is doing with his drawings on the pavement: he is trying to cast a seal. The Rangers and Jester then engage in a rematch: the Rangers are knocked to the ground before Madison then gets up and goes after Jester for a short battle among themselves that ends in Jester giving her a hard blow and Madison demorphing as she lands on the ground; Jester is about to give Madison a fatal blow, when the frog jumps onto him - he dislikes frogs and so tries to shake the frog off; eventually he succeeds in fulfilling his desperate personal desire of casting the frog away and the rest of the Rangers battle him once more now that the frog is no longer caught in the mix. Madison moves over to the frog which she realizes has saved her; she gives it a kiss and instantly it morphs into a knight - she is delighted at this sight. The knight walks over and offers his assistance to the fair lady, Madison, to whom he explains broke the curse. Jester is still present with several Hidiacs now on hand; Madison rejoins the Rangers to battle Jester now that his Hidiacs have appeared - at this moment, the knight steps forward and tells them to stand back, morphing into Solaris Knight to see to the battle himself. As the Rangers and Madison witness in admiration at the sight of the events that are now coming next, Solaris Knight, after stating that he is back in action, wonders where Jenji is; instantly at Root Core, Jenji starts behaving in a way that shows he is now aware of Solaris Knight's return and so teleports to him; upon Jenji's arrival, Jenji's lamp is then morphed by hand into the Laser Lamp - the Hidiacs are faced and eventually destroyed by this new knight who then moves on to successfully give Jester the same fate; after the battle, Madison and the Rangers walk up to Solaris Knight, who demorphs before they approach him - Madison asks him who he is and he replies there's no time: Udonna is in trouble.

Imperious has just finished breaking the Xenotome's protection spell with success. The knight and teens then enter the scene. The knight knocks Imperious down and breaks the spell holding Udonna and Clare immobile before the knight tells Calindor he's ready to finish the battle. Imperious tells the knight, Daggeron, that he is called Imperious now, and then tells Daggeron they'll finish this another time and vanishes. Daggeron and Udonna hug each other.

In the pit, Imperious vows that next time Daggeron won't succeed.

In the woods, Daggeron and Udonna are walking; Daggeron tells Udonna what had happened in the battle long ago, how Calindor was overtaken with dark magic, so much so, Daggeron didn't even recognize him and how they were both cursed and placed in the cave. Udonna asks Daggeron about Bowen who he tells he lost track of during the battle. Daggeron asks Udonna about Leanbow Udonna tells Daggeron was destroyed. Daggeron feels he has failed everyone and walks away. Hiding in the bushes, once more, is Phineas who has overheard Daggeron's and Udonna's conversation; he fears the consequences if Udonna and Daggeron find out what he has done.
