Junji Takigawa (ジュンジ・タキガワ ) was the father of Kinji Takigawa. During Kinji's childhood, Junji fought the Yokai as a Yokai Hunter alongside his eldest son Reiji back in America before they were killed by the Western Yokai Wolf Man while saving Kinji.
Years later, the now grown-up Kinji honored his father and elder brother by fighting the Yokai in Japan as StarNinger. However, when faced with the Youkai Umibozu, he lost faith when he was shown an illusion depicting their deaths at the hands of Wolf Man, but regained his resolve after being encouraged by his fellow Ninningers. TV STORY-Shinobi 17: Good Bye, StarNinger! Kinji later came face-to-face with the Western Yokai Wolf Man himself, eventually prevailing over the Yokai and resisting Kyuemon Izayoi, Kinji confided with his teammates that he had wanted the Last Ninja's End Shuriken so he could use it to resurrect his father and older brother. Etymology[]
Junji shares a portion of his given name ンジ (nji) with his youngest son Kinji and the ジ (ji) ending with his oldest son Reiji as well.
