Plunder!! The Transformation Brace (強奪！！変身ブレス Gōdatsu!!Henshin Buresu) is the seventeenth episode of Chouriki Sentai Ohranger. This is the first of a two-part story involving Seiichi Kuroda, a peculiar mad scientist who wishes to ally with Baranoia.
Synopsis[]
The Ohranger pursue a mad scientist who steals Yuji's Power Brace, fearing he will turn over it's secrets to Baranoia.
Plot[]
As Yuji reports in to Goro on patrol through the city, Momo states how boring it's gotten with Baranoia; Shouhei wonders if they've given up but Juri states they have to keep on alert. Yuji soon notices a boy being abducted by a Barlo Soldier being chased by his mother; Yuji takes over chasing it and reports to the UAOH headquarters about the attack as he pursues it up steps in pursuit. The Barlo uses a strange remote control causing an explosion before suddenly talking, claiming he "fell into his trap" and revealing it not as Baranoia but a human scientist! Yuji asks who he is as he calls himself Genius Kuroda, the evil mastermind; approaching OhBlue, he uses a device to loosen the power Brace, stating he chose Yuji as the most irresponsible Ohranger and waiting for his chance as he runs off with the brace and shocks Yuji's clinging hand, making him plummet to the ground while Kuroda escapes with a jetpack.
The other Ohranger catch up with Yuji, as Goro finds out from Miura that "Genius Kuroda" is Sei'ichi Kuroda, a world-class engineer who up to two years prior was an officer for the National Scientist Academy before he vanished. Yuji yells at Miura to make a new Power Brace, but the chief states he can't since they contain the only Storage Crystals they were able to excavate from the ancient ruins! The real concern: what if the Power Brace did fall into Baranoia's hands; Juri agrees stating the Power Braces contain all knowledge they possess on Chouriki; Momo adding that if Baranoia finds out, they'll be in trouble. Miura states Kuroda was last seen at the Rindo Lake Family Farm in the Nasu Highlands, where he may have a base.
At the Nasu Highlands, Kuroda lands at a house where he searches for his son Shigeru, who welcomes him home as he states his accomplishments and that he'll soon be a great and wealthy man and that he won't suffer any further. Shigeru asks if he did something bad; stating that he believes "Baranoia is great and humanity is bad", but the doctor ignores him and wonders if his father would do anything bad. But without warning, Shigeru has a headache forcing his father to look after him. The Ohranger soon arrive at the Rindo Lake Family Farm, but Kuroda also notices Barlo Soldier approaching as well, making him worry about the Power Brace's safety. Within the park, Goro explains that if the others get within 20 meters of Yuji's stolen Power Brace, the transmitter will respond, telling them to investigate extensively. The Ohranger wander through the park, searching every attraction and area but coming up blind in their search.
At the house, Shigeru worries about his father as Kuroda speaks to Buldont and Acha, stating that if given Japan when Baranoia takes over Earth, he'll give the machines the Power Brace. He states that Baranoia has been stumped by the secrets of Chouriki and that giving them the Power Brace would allow them to gain the knowledge, making their concepts of defeating Ohranger and conquering Earth no longer a dream and thinks Japan is a worthy price. Buldont agrees, but Kuroda states if he gives it up now, then Baranoia will just turn his back on him stating that "he didn't make such a promise". As Acha asks what to do, Kuroda states they should formalize a bond of friendship; since Kuroda prefers machines to humans; once a partner, he'd give up the Power Brace with ease! Shigeru overhears it all and runs off. As they leave, Acha asks if Buldont is willing to make Kuroda a partner which the prince says he won't with how foolish it is for a machine to join forces with a simple human. He states they'll string him along until he shows his hand, while deciding they can do something else: with an Ohranger with a missing Power Brace, they can take advantage of the situation of him not transforming. Elsewhere, Shigeru runs off believing his father an idiot until he finds Yuji and Juri continuing their investigation of the park. The duo find a reaction seeing Shigeru on the monitor, wondering why he's doing such a thing until Miura alerts them that he is Kuroda's son who vanished with his father two years prior.
The Ohranger chase Shigeru until a Machine Beast named Bara Vacuum appears before them with Barlo Soldiers; Yuji and Juri fight them off as OhYellow transforms to defend her teammate and avoids a vacuum attack. Juri informs the other Ohranger to meet up but they're also assaulted by Barlo, forcing transformation as they fight them off. Yuji is knocked to the ground by Bara Vacuum, with OhYellow defending before he's sucked within his body by his head, shocking his teammate before she's hit by exhaust. Juri informs the team that Yuji was captured and the Power Brace's signal was on Shigeru as they see the boy dragged home by his father; the Ohranger call out Kuroda but he fires a beam at the heroes, but Shigeru pleads for his father to stop with the misunderstanding that he has the Power Brace despite having it, making the boy think he hid it and pleads to give it back. The boy tries to state he loves his father but hates that he's doing evil things; the Ohranger tell him to give it back so to not make his son cry. But they're interrupted by Buldont and the Baranoia forces, who finds parent/child relations of humans peculiar before attacking with Bara Vacuum to get the Power Brace back from Shigeru. The Ohranger fight off the Barlo until the Machine Beast tries to take the boy, leading to OhRed to knock him away but the Machine Beast to attack them knocking Shigeru to the ground. However when Kuroda goes to check on his son, his chest reveals mechanical parts within, revealing that he's a robot! The boy wonders what happened to his body while Buldont realizes the truth instantly, shocking the boy as Kuroda yells at him to be OK, yet with the Power Brace slipping out of his mechanical body.
Buldont yells at Bara Vacuum to take it, but OhGreen grabs it and throws a rock into it's body, with him yelling at Yuji that he'll get him out! A squad of Barlo on carts grab the Power Brace leading to a confrontation where OhGreen drives to get it back, before passing to OhYellow fighting over a jungle gym, then OhPink on paddle boats and finally OhRed on a go kart racing away until Bara Vacuum shoots him on the track and vacuums Goro into his body! Once inside, he gives the Power Brace to Yuji while grabbing on to the gears with OhBlue to the point that the Machine Beast spits them out. Once escaped, the Ohranger fight off the Barlo and Bara Vacuum, until Yuji uses the Crashing Rolling Bomber and Lightning Chouriki Tonfa to harm it and weaken it until it's crushed by the Giant Roller Shoot. After Acha and Kocha use the Enlargement Beam, the Ohranger use Ohranger Robo, hitting the Machine east until using the Graviton Head and the Chouriki Leon Beam to weaken it; then throw the Super Crown Sword into it's mouth to wreck it's suction long enough to use the Crown Final Crash to destroy Bara Vacuum.
After the battle, the Ohranger realize that both Shigeru and Kuroda have disappeared, with the evil genius running off with his robot son. The team wonders what's going on but Shouhei thinks that even if he's a robot, they can't let Shigeru be since his heart is human; Goro ads that even if he's robotic, Shigeru's heart is human and they have to save him from his father.
