World Pirates

This article is about a pirate gang in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger

The World Pirates (界賊, Kaizoku) is a gang of pirates from Kaizokutopia. The entire gang is made of siblings from the Goldtsuiker family, with Zocks Goldtsuiker being the oldest brother and the leader. After he befriended the Zenkaigers, the World Pirates became the team’s close allies.

Team History[]

The World Pirates came from a parallel world where everyone was a pirate. However, unlike their compatriots, the gang traveled to other worlds to plunder. When Kaizokutopia was invaded by Kikaitopia Dynasty Tojitendo, Zocks and Flint organized a counter-invasion, when they attacked Tojitendo Palace and stole some treasures from the lair, including the Sentai Gears.

At some point, the gang visited Gokaitopia, the world of Gokaigers. Impressed by the pirate Rangers, the Goldtsuikers copied their design into Twokaizer.

The group later plundered SDtopia sometime prior to encountering the Tojitendo Dynasty. However, Ricky and Cutanner ended up cursed in super-deformed robotic forms. The group's main goals were now to reverse to effects of the world's curse, though they had to free it from the Tojitendo Dynasty first. New Sentai Gears were eventually developed to let the crew make good use of Cutanner and Ricky's new forms.

The World Pirates tend to prioritize their own goals and do not particularly care for others unless it suits their interests. This puts them at odds against Zenkaigers, who make protecting others one of their top priorities. This went to the extent that Zocks was willing to deliberately attack civilians converted into Kudakks by Recycle World just to try and recover the SDTopia Tojiru Gear, whereas the other Zenkaigers made conscious efforts to try and avoid harming them. The other World Pirates were shown to be just as ruthless, forcing the Zenkaigers to employ methods to bring down the Tojitendo efforts immediately so as to prevent them from causing any more problems.

After Zenkaizer beat Twokaizer in a duel, the World Pirates stopped stealing from others in the Zenkaigers' world and now paid for everything that they acquired. Originally using currency from their own universe, they began paying using items such as jewelry after it was discovered that the universe they currently inhabit uses forms of currency that Pongi doesn’t exactly mesh with.

The World Pirates would continue to aid the Zenkaigers in battling the Tojitendo Dynasty until ultimately, the SD Tojiru Gear came into the battlefield as a part of SD World. Destroying him and his Great World counterpart, the World Pirates later departed Kaito's world to at long last finish their mission in restoring the Twokai Twins. As they depart, a possessed Stacy releases their home of Kaizokutopia by destroying its Tojiru Gear before it can be used to create a World.

After the final battle, the World Pirates successfully break the curse of SDtopia, and the gears meant for the Twokai Twins were later modified to allow Ricky and Cutanner to continue giving Zocks full assistance in combat.

Behind the scenes[]

Etymology[]

As explained by Zocks himself, "Kaizoku" (界賊, "Kaizoku") is shorted from "Sekai Kaizoku" (世界海賊, "Sekai Kaizoku"). "Kai" from "Pirate" (海賊, Kaizoku) is replaced with the homophonous "Kai" from "World" (世界, Sekai).

• Although different by design and color, both TwokaiRicky and TwokaiCutanner are based on 5-piece giant robos with lion mechas at the core, both with separate helmets and swords as primary weapons.
