Ezekiel "Zeke" Banks is the main protagonist of the 2021 horror film Spiral: From the Book of Saw.

He is a police officer and he's investigating the Spiral Killing similar to the traps made by Jigsaw throughout the Saw franchise. He is working to find out the identity of The Spiral Killer.

He was portrayed by Chris Rock who also played Osmosis Jones.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

• He turned in a corrupt police colleague subsequently leading to him being called a rat.
• Even though his emotions and anger get to him a lot, he genuinely cares for the lives of others rather than really himself.
• He goes to great lengths of trying to save some of the colleagues from traps that would have merely murdered him as well from The Spiral Killing Traps designed to kill some of the targeted Police Officers who have had traces of corruption being the reason for them being placed.
• He has tried to save some of his colleagues in spite of their corrupt factors and him not having good relationship with them.
• Though it's a small detail, in the film, he refused to work with William Schenk who offered Ezekiel a deal to work with him on The Spiral Killings.
• Despite the Saw franchise having a lot of corruptive and/or heinous characters, Ezekiel stands out due to his selflessness and willingness to help others around him.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

• Throughout the film, he lets his anger get the best of him which has made it difficult for him to cooperate with some of his colleagues and even try to stop The Spiral Killer or even save Marcus Banks that would have required for him to shoot at white circled shaped target pads with red spirals like Billy's face design.

• Ezekiel Banks is the only Near Pure Good from the Saw franchise.
• It is possible that future installments might change Ezekiel's status.
