“ | Toku: Grayzar's a liar! I'm not a bad guy, okay? My fellow Hokuns will back me up. Minnie: Really? Where are THEY? Toku: Oh. Yeah, umm. I no longer had use for them, so I dismissed them all for being inferior. |

~ Toku explaining what he did to the other Hokuns. |
Toku is the main antagonist of the 2023 platform video game Disney Illusion Island. He led the Hokuns, a group of creatures similar to rabbits native to the island of Monoth. Toku invited Mickey and his friends to the island, in hopes of getting the Tomes of Knowledge "returned" to him.
He was voiced by Rasmus Hardiker.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- In the past, he brainwashed Mazzy with an evil crown, starting what is practically a war, and while no casualties are noted, it is described as a "battle of epic proportions", implying it must've been quite dangerous, and possibly deadly. There even is an image in the Tome of History which shows someone lying on the ground wounded, and while they don't look that injured, this is quite likely artistic interpretation, considering every person is represented by a Hokun, even though they're a variety of species. They even say that the war had a "devastating cost", which seems to be referring to the facts the three Guardians would never be able to see each other again because they had to keep the Tomes seperate, it is showing the image of the injured person while it says this, so it may very well mean there was a body count.
- In addition, his brainwashing of Mazzy seems to have been bad, considering he is able to recount the exact details of what he did while brainwashed, showing he was conscious the whole time, and he says he was a "prisoner in [his] own mind". He also still was able to project the remaining part of his mind out of the workshop, which basically confirms he was conscious whilst fighting his friends, and possibly even was forced to kill people.
- After luring Mickey and friends over, he instructs them on a magic spell that will turn the thieves into stone. Considering these aren't thieves, but the guardians of the Tomes, he's instead getting them to turn innocent people into statues, and when The PostOfficer is freed, she seems to imply she was conscious the whole time, making this a fate worse than death.
- He got the Tomes of Knowledge stolen via manipulation, and then planned to burn them and absorb their power to take over Monoth. Mickey also states "if anything deserves a kick, it's wanting to destroy the world", implying he may have wanted to commit omnicide.
- It's implied he was about to try to kill Minnie, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy before Minnie kicked him into the distance.
- The spell he casts in an attempt to take over causes Mazzy's workshop to start collapsing, nearly killing the four yet again.
- Whilst all the Hokuns we see are evil, there's no implication they lack moral agency.
- His "tragedy" of being too small and being ignored is too petty considering the heinousness of his crimes, as well as the fact the other Hokuns all listen to him, making it ingenuine.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has a couple of comedic moments, most notably his defeat, where Minnie dropkicks him, skipping a boss fight with him.
Trivia[]
- Him being the main antagonist was very commonly predicted by players, as he acts incredibly shady in the first cutscene.
