Comic-Con DJ Pon3 promo

Promo image for the addition of the Comic-Con version of DJ Pon-3.

Originally, DJ Pon-3 was only available in Ponyville, but in the August 29, 2013 update, a second version of her was added for Canterlot. This version has several visual differences from the Ponyville version; she has blue legs, glitter in her mane and tail, and the frames of her sunglasses are lined with diamonds.

Trivia[]

  • DJ Pon-3 is somewhat of a fan favorite despite her rare appearances in the show (once per season, not including the spinoff film Equestria Girls). After her debut in "Suited for Success" without any name given, Equestria Daily held a poll to decide her name, with "DJ Pon-3" winning narrowly over "Vinyl Scratch". Both names are still commonly used, with the consensus being that the latter is her actual name and the former her stage name, as is common for DJs. Hasbro has adopted these names starting with the song parody "Equestria Girls".
    • She appears seven times in the spinoff film, with three of those appearances being the focus of a shot:
      1. She is seen walking in the hallway with her headphones on.
      2. Her glasses are removed by Applejack during the "Cafeteria Song", revealing her eyes to be magenta.
      3. She performs at the DJ booth at the fall formal during the reprise of the song "This Is Our Big Night".
  • Since she always wears her glasses, her eye color is somewhat debated among fans and even official depictions of her, either being red or magenta (similar to her glasses), but the latter seems to be official.
  • Her house takes 8 hours and 20 minutes to build.
  • She is discounted to 72 Gem on Jan. 14, 2014 until Jan. 15, 2014 with Dash.
