"Panic at the Park" is the eighth episode of Miraculous Chibi.[1]
Synopsis[]
TBA
Characters[]
- Ladybug
- Cat Noir
- Stormy Weather
- Two carnies
Trivia[]
- The webisode was created for a Miraculous Chibi playset.[2]
- This webisode, along with "The Cake Race", are the first to be released as part of the Miraculous Chibi revival run.
- This marks the first appearance of Stormy Weather as well as an akumatized villain in the chibi series.
- The carnies who give Cat Noir a damaged teddy bear prize each share the same character design as Marinette, Chloé, and Adrien. For example, the sleeves of the second carnie's jacket are yellow which is identical to Chloé's. However, to keep up with the illusion that the animators didn't reuse one of the three aforementioned characters for a carnie, their faces are obscured and only their arms are shown.
- Because the web series takes place in a separate universe, the akumatized villains are revealed to be mild inconveniences since neither Ladybug nor Cat Noir battle Stormy Weather here.
- On December 2, 2023, an alternative version of the webisode was released.[3]
- There's an extra scene added in the alternative version that features Stormy Weather fantasizing about wanting to break apart Ladybug and Cat Noir's relationship via a thought bubble. As a result, this scene gives viewers context on why the akumatized villain wanted to sabotage Cat Noir from winning a teddy bear for Ladybug and it didn't come off as her playing a prank on him which was depicted in the original version.
- However, this scene isn't seen in the episode animatic.
- Interestingly, this webisode has three different endings. After Cat Noir crashed the rollercoaster onto the Ferris wheel and landed on the ground, the three different endings represent which character "won" in the webisode.
- In Stormy Weather's ending: Cat Noir loses his temper and is about to destroy his teddy bear before he sees Ladybug walking towards him. He quickly calms down and is about to give Ladybug the damaged teddy bear before its head falls off. This ending shows Cat Noir's carnival prize plan fails and Stormy Weather wins, albeit the latter doesn't appear in this ending.
- In Cat Noir's ending: Cat Noir successfully gives the teddy bear to Ladybug despite how damaged it is. This ending shows Stormy Weather's sabotage plan fails and Cat Noir wins.
- In Ladybug's ending: Ladybug already managed to win a teddy bear on her own, albeit off-screen. Thus, this ending shows both Stormy Weather and Cat Noir's respective plans fail.
- The storyboarder, Esther Brustlein, uploaded an animatic of this webisode that featured Ladybug's ending on ArtStation. However, an animated version of it hasn't been officially released yet.[4]
- Both Cat Noir's and Ladybug's endings have Ladybug standing in front of a carnival mirror display. However, Stormy Weather didn't appear in either endings.
- It's unknown how Ladybug won a teddy bear in her ending since neither the animatic nor final versions show her playing any carnival games.
- Despite the webisode replacing Stormy Weather's ending with Cat Noir's ending, the original version can still be viewed from a compilation video.[5]
Errors[]
- Throughout the webisode, Ladybug's earrings are in camouflaged mode.
- In the title card, Ladybug's yo-yo is around the right side of her waist instead of her left side.
- In one frame at the beginning of the webisode, Ladybug's pigtails are missing before she lands on a rooftop.
- Despite Ladybug and Cat Noir being at the amusement park, they and Stormy Weather are the only characters there. There aren't any other fairgoers around. Only two carnies are shown by their arms when they hand Cat Noir a damaged teddy bear prize whenever he wins a game, but there aren't any other carnies shown beside them.
- Throughout the scenes when Cat Noir is trying to win the tin can ball toss game, the sign for the hook-a-duck features a duck outline instead of an image of a rubber duck wearing a pirate hat.
- Despite the tin can ball toss booth being on fire courtesy of Stormy Weather, the booth somehow rapidly recovers itself when Cat Noir is about to slam his staff on the lever of the high striker.
- Before the puck on the high striker is about to hit the bell on the top of the tower, the "winner" board above the teddy bear is missing. This error also appears when the teddy bear is about to fall from the high striker after Cat Noir wins.
- In Cat Noir's ending, Ladybug's yo-yo is around the right side of her waist instead of her left side. In addition, she doesn't have her reflection despite standing in front of a mirror.
- In Ladybug's ending shown in the animatic, Ladybug was holding a cotton candy when the rollercoaster crashed into a Ferris wheel like in the final version. However, she is suddenly shown holding her teddy bear after the crash when the camera pans to show Cat Noir noticing Ladybug in front of him.
