Beta Hydros was a star system, located in Federation space, somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

The Beta Hydros system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including fourth planet Beta Hydros IV, site of a Federation colony. (TNG - The Star Lost comic: "The Flight of the Albert Einstein")

The stellar notation using the Greek language letter "beta" indicates that there might be a star group or constellation of some sort named "Hydros", of which Beta Hydros would logically be indicated to be the second most prominent star or system. There are two similarly named constellations in real astronomy, Hydrus and Hydra, but neither of them is conjugated as "Hydros".
