Megami Ibunroku Persona: Ikuu no Tou Hen (女神異聞録ペルソナ 異空の塔編, Alternate Goddess Tale Persona: Otherworld Tower Chapter)? is an RPG developed by Atlus and Bbmf Co Ltd. for mobile phones, specifically the high-end feature phones of the time. Its title when first announced was Megami Ibunroku Persona Gaiden: Ikuu no Tou (女神異聞録ペルソナ外伝 異空の塔*)?.
A port to the Nintendo Switch and Steam as part of G-Mode Archives+ was announced on August 28th, 2023.[1][2][3] The Nintendo Switch version was released on September 14th (decided on September 11th,)[4] while the Steam version was released on September 29th (confirmed following the release of the Nintendo Switch version.)[5]
Gameplay[]
Ikuu no Tou Hen is an original 3D dungeon-crawler RPG based on Megami Ibunroku Persona. Series staples like demon negotiation and demonic fusion are featured in this, as the game functions similarly to the original title. Dungeons are randomly generated. Dying while in the tower will cause the player to lose all the money, items and equipment they had on them. There is a rest floor roughly every 10 floors (Except the 90th floor) where players can use the velvet room, shop, and heal. After beating the game and saving players can explore the tower as they want, but there are no bonus fights.
Players are able to allocate stats to all party members. Experience is allocated equally between party members. There is no voice work, but unlike the original menus, which only used hiragana and katakana, kanji are used. Unknown Powers and Persona Talk are absent from the game. Totems can only be found as random loot in treasure chests, including the Avatar Totem.
Story[]
After the battle in the SEBEC building, the DEVA System transports the protagonist's party into a parallel world. The protagonist, Maki Sonomura and Masao Inaba awaken to discover they've been separated from the others. However, Igor and the Velvet Room are connected to this space, as well. According to Igor, in order to escape this alternate dimension, they will need to gather 9 orbs throughout the tower, find their companions and travel to the top of the tower to operate the space transition device. They encounter a girl named Maria who is also trying to escape using the device at the top of the tower. Throughout the tower they find all the other Persona users and some demons mention that there is a demon known as the Destroyer locked in the tower. However, at the top, Maria reveals that she is the Destroyer. She has become bored with the tower and wants to go cause destruction in the human world. However, each persona can only use one orb, so she needed 9 people to activate the orbs for her. After she is stopped the cast use the device to escape and return. The screen goes black and a "To be continued" screen appears, as the story now continues in Persona 1.

Trivia[]
- While all shopkeepers use their original portraits from Persona, Igor uses his Persona 2 portrait. Furthermore, all party members use the same portraits seen during the Persona flashbacks in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. This includes party members who did not show up in the Eternal Punishment flashbacks and thus had new portraits done for them for this game.
