Amaterasu, the leading Amatsu
The Amatsu race, the shorthand version of "Amatsukami" (天津神, Amatsukami)?, is a demon race in the Megami Tensei series.
Overview[]
The Amatsu race, as is implied, is a race that exclusively contains the Amatsukami deities from Japanese mythology. Their relationship with the Kunitsukami is a little like the rivalry between the Deities and the Tyrants, in that they are opposing forces. They represented heaven and conquered the earth inhabited by their rival kunitsukami.
They are Light-Law and belong to the Gods species.
In Majin Tensei II: Spiral Nemesis only, the Amatsu race was renamed into the Tenjin (天神*)? race.

Shin Megami Tensei V / Vengeance[]
In Shin Megami Tensei V, no demons of the Amatsu race can be summoned in battle, as it’s implied the majority of the Amatsukami had perished in the Conception that destroyed Tokyo 18 years prior to the start of the story. Instead, what's left of the race plays a major role in the story, where Tsukuyomi, disguised as Hayao Koshimizu, strives to claim the Throne of Creation to shape a world of myriad gods. Additionally, his brother, Susano-o, known as Aogami, fuses with the protagonist, becoming a Nahobino of their own right.
In the Canon of Vengeance storyline, the three major Amatsukami are revealed to all be Proto-fiends, through which they act in the stead of the Amatsukami, with Susano-o/Aogami being the combat-types that fight with the fury of the Amatsukami and Tsukuyomi being the logistics-type to lead the nation. However, the sole command-type Proto-fiend, which would command both of the previous Proto-fiend models, Amaterasu suffered an accident where her Knowledge was overwhelmed and removed from her core, resulting in it being refashioned into the Heavenly Keystone. The Keystone is kept safe in the Jingu Naien area of Da'at: Shinjuku in the hopes that one day Amaterasu would rise again.
