Mechaniloid This article lacks an official name, its title being conjectural.

This unnamed boss, known by nicknames such as "Parabola Gun" and "Satellite Cannon" due to its appearance resembling a parabolic antenna, is a boss from Mega Man IV.

Mega Man IV[]

MMIVWilyCastleBattle

Mega Man attacking Wily's fortress

After the defeat of the four Robot Masters from Mega Man 4, Mega Man follows Dr. Wily and is attacked by the defenses of his Wily Station. Mega Man attacks the base and fights against this cannon in the top of the fortress, being the first boss of the Wily Station.

Attack Pattern[]

SatelliteCannonFight

"Satellite Cannon" opening its core as it fires

Being a stationary satellite cannon, the boss cannot move from the right side, but does lower up and down slowly. Mega Man should not stand under the satellite when it lowers, because Mega Man will be crushed instantly. After every 2-3 seconds, the cannon uses one of 2 attacks. The first is to tilt up and throw its core to the top of the screen; the core then launches in a straight line at Mega Man's position and returns to its base by rolling along the ground. The core can also attack by opening and creating an orb that rotates around it. This orb is then launched forward while still rotating in that same diameter. The orb can actually be destroyed, though destroying it will cause the core to close early. Once the boss reaches half-health, the core will summon two rotating orbs, which are tricky to destroy (in that only one of these orbs actually has a hitbox) and trickier to dodge. The boss can only be damaged when the core opens to attack with the spinning orbs.

After defeating this boss, Mega Man enters the fortress and fights against Ballade.

Weakness[]

The boss is only weak to Pharaoh Shot, with a charged version doing 6 damage and destroying it in just 4 hits, or 3 charged shots and 1 uncharged. Speaking of, the uncharged version does 2 damage as well. As with most other bosses, this boss takes 3 damage from a fully-charged buster shot.
