"If the only other choice is a living death under you... Then I'd rather choose to laugh death in the face and face it with dignity!"
―Neige to Dr. Weil, Mega Man Zero 4

Neige (ネージュ Nēju) is a human journalist who plays an important role in Mega Man Zero 4. She leads a Caravan of humans escaping Neo Arcadia, in hopes of settling at Area Zero.

Description[]

Neige is a human woman of average height with red hair and blue eyes. She wears a yellow vest, baggy green capri pants, and black shoes. She is often seen holding a handheld video camera.

Neige is a strong-willed and perceptive woman, and a natural leader. She takes her job as a reporter very seriously, and isn't afraid to take risks to discover the truth, and then act on it. She's had feelings for Craft ever since he saved her from a Maverick, admiring his noble honesty, which makes her all the more disgusted to learn he started serving Dr. Weil.

History[]

Background[]

Neige is a journalist in Neo Arcadia who met Craft while researching a story early in her career. He saved her from a Maverick attack, bringing the two closer.[1]

After Dr. Weil took power, those opposing him were disposed of one by one, human or Reploid. Neige was disturbed by this, and left Neo Arcadia to lead a human Caravan away from Weil's oppression. She later expressed regret for not having seen through Weil's lies sooner.[2]

Mega Man Zero 4[]

Z4 scene2

Neige introduces herself to Zero.

Neige first appears with the Caravan trucks driving to Area Zero. Weil's forces catch up to them, but fortunately Zero arrives and defeats them. Once the Caravan stops, Neige exits a truck to talk to Zero and Ciel, expressing interest but still cautious, aware that Zero killed Copy X which led to Weil taking control.

When Craft attacks the Human Settlement, Neige confronts him and reveals their relationship to Zero. Soon after, Craft kidnaps her and locks her in The Prison. Zero infiltrates the base to rescue her for the Caravan, but they are confronted by Craft and Dr. Weil on the way out. Neige reminds Craft of what he used to fight for, before defiantly throwing a flashbang as they are teleported away.

Later, Neige provides the Resistance with coordinates to the Teleporter Base, as part of the plan to infiltrate Ragnarok and stop Craft from firing it on Neo Arcadia. When Zero kills Craft, she is disappointed but also relieved he was stopped.

In the ending, Neige is among those who watch as Ragnarok's ruins fall from the sky, wondering if Zero could have possibly survived the crash.

  2. Neige: "Thanks Zero... I just wanted to tell you that again. ... I never would've thought the Reploid that defeated out leader would be the one to save us... I committed one of the gravest sins a journalist can commit... I based all of my opinions on the information and rumors from the government without looking into the facts for myself... Some journalist..."
