Area Zero (エリアゼロ Eria Zero) is a locale from Mega Man Zero 4. It is where the space colony Eurasia "crashed" a long time ago during the Maverick Wars (specifically, Mega Man X5), and nature slowly became abundant due to an environmental control system that was left active after the crash.
Description[]
Left alone even during the Elf Wars and cordoned off, Area Zero is allegedly one of the last habitable areas on Earth outside of Neo Arcadia. It was for this reason that a human Caravan moved from Neo Arcadia to this location to escape from Dr. Weil's tyranny, forming a Human Settlement. Later, a mobile unit from the Resistance is stationed outside the area for protection; to the chagrin of its inhabitants, who distrust Reploids.
Upon noticing a second human settlement not under his control, Dr. Weil begins plans to destroy Area Zero using his Einherjar Eight Warriors. Initially, his plan- Operation Ragnarok- simply appears to be a multi-front attack, sending the Einherjar and Craft to various places that house weapons or systems that can destroy Area Zero. However, after they are all defeated by Zero, Weil reveals that the true objective was the orbital weapon Ragnarok- the Einherjar were mere distractions to buy him time to activate the station. Ironically, after Craft turns Ragnarok on Neo Arcadia instead, the majority of its surviving population are forced to move to Area Zero, where water, food, plants, and natural energy are abundant. While the ruins of Neo Arcadia still host some humans and Reploids, Area Zero becomes the new home of humanity, eventually restoring nature to the rest of the world.

Trivia[]
- As the habitants from Neo Arcadia moved to Area Zero, it is believed Area Zero became the Innerpeace area from the Mega Man ZX series.
- The name "Area Zero" may be a reference to the Zero Space from Mega Man X5, and Area Zero is where the Eurasia crashed.
- The "Zero" may also hold the notion of "beginning", being a reference to the initial state of Earth, as Area Zero is one of the few nature-filled areas at that time.
