Metall Daddy (メットールダディ Mettōru Dadi) is the first boss of the Wily Castle in Mega Man 4. It is a giant Met that produces ordinary Mets inside his body. The requirements of that system render his movement relatively sluggish, though, requiring a jet propulsion to move by jumping.
Mega Man 4[]
Attack pattern[]
Metall Daddy starts the fight underneath his indestructible helmet, but quickly raises it. His weak point is his body, only vulnerable when he raises his helmet. After raising his helmet, he waits either 1 or 2 seconds before jumping in Mega Man's direction. He may either do a shorter jump that is much tighter to avoid, or a longer jump that covers more distance, depending on where Mega Man is. As his jumping has no telegraph, this is important information for dodging his jump attack. When he lands, the ground will shake and Mega Man will have to jump off the ground to avoid getting stunned. Shortly after the stun, four Metalls will rain down from the ceiling inside their helmets, meaning they cannot be killed on the way down. They fall in a way so 2 of them are positioned near the middle and the other 2 are closer to the edges of the screen. When these Metalls land, the Metall Daddy hides under his helmet, while the Metalls rise out of their helmets and start walking offscreen, to whichever side of the screen is closer. Getting stunned from the boss's landing means the player will have a very little window to avoid the falling Metalls. Once they leave the screen, Metall Daddy repeats the pattern.
Weaknesses[]
Metall Daddy has several weaknesses that do roughly the same damage. A fully-charged Pharaoh Shot and Mega Buster deal 3 damage, as with most bosses. If these weapons aren't desirable, Dust Crusher and Ring Boomerang do a more consistent 2 damage.

Notes:
- For Mega Buster and Pharaoh Shot, the first number is when the weapon is fired normally; the second is when it is fully charged.
- Flash Stopper's offensive attack is an uncharged Mega Buster shot, so it can technically damage any boss that is damaged by the Mega Buster.
- For Drill Bomb, the first number is damage inflicted when hitting a boss directly with it; the second number is damage inflicted from the explosion itself by detonating a Drill Bomb next to the boss.
