- "The amount of Supra-Force Metal I've applied makes Shadow pale in comparison! Come forth and meet your destruction!"
- ―Incentas, Mega Man X: Command Mission
Incentas (エンシェンタス Enshentasu) is a boss in the game Mega Man X: Command Mission. He is a six-armed genie Reploid able to switch between three elemental alignments at will. He has a high rank in the Rebellion Army, being an "associate cadre".[2]
Characteristics[]
Incentas' design is primarily inspired by a genie, and possesses three masked faces connected by one rotating head. His six hands float around him, disconnected from his body. His torso is composed of energy, which corresponds to the elemental alignment he is utilizing. He has three distinct forms, which each use a different pair of hands to attack:
- Burning Genie Incentas "Ra Head": Incentas changes to a brown mask with an Egyptian uraeus. His color scheme turns red and green with a purple collar. His body is composed of fire, and he uses his Egypt Hands for fire-based attacks. This is his default form in battle.
- Lightning Genie Incentas "Jade Head": Incentas changes to a Mayan jade death mask. His color scheme turns yellow and sky blue with a red collar. His body is composed of electricity, and he uses his Barenke Hands for lightning-based attacks.
- Dancing Genie Incentas "Baron Head": Incentas changes to a blue head with a Balinese Barong mask. His color scheme turns blue and purple with a teal collar, and he begins to dance. His body is composed of water, and he uses his Bali Hands for ice-based attacks.
In official artwork and cutscenes, Incentas takes on a mixture of his forms - he possesses the fiery body and Ra Head from Burning Genie mode, but the yellow limbs and Barenke Hands of Lightning Genie mode. It is possible that these colors for Incentas are his default colors, while Incentas only uses his distinct color schemes for elemental channeling in combat.
From what little is seen of Incentas' personality, he is incredibly arrogant and crafty. He was exhilarated when the heroes fell for his trap, and stooped to self-destructing the room in order to destroy them once he lost. He seemed to know quite a bit about Supra-Force Metal, since both he and his ally in the same area, Shadow, used it. Incentas had little respect for Shadow for being a traitor, and believed he was stronger than him.
History[]
Mega Man X: Command Mission[]
X and his allies went to Gimialla Mine looking for Supra-Force Metal, but it was actually a trap. Once they reached the lab, Incentas barred the door behind them, trapping them inside. After a strenuous fight, Incentas sets off the self-destruct mechanism for the lab. As he was about to teleport out Spider tackles him from the side, pushing him against the door. Figuring that the combined explosion of two Reploids would blow the door open, Spider seemingly "sacrifices" himself so that X and the others could escape. Incentas was obliterated in the resulting explosion.
Later, Incentas and other four Rebellion members are fought again in the Far East HQ, X's party deducing that they are Reploids imitating them.

Illustrator Comments
"Initially, Incentas only had four fingers on each hand, but I got a sudden phone call saying, 'We want you to put five fingers on each hand!' I couldn't believe it. Did they know how many hands this guy has!?" -Ryuji Higurashi [3]
Trivia[]
- An advertisement for Mega Man X DiVE leaked a glimpse at boss art for Incentas, even though he wasn't in the game. The full artwork was later revealed in the Rockman X DiVE Illustration Collection book, showing that he was planned but was cut during development.
- Incentas' three heads are references to masks used in global ancient civilizations. His Ra Head is inspired by the Mask of Tutankhamun of Egypt, his Jade Head is inspired by the jade death mask of Pacal the Great of the Maya, and his Baron Head is inspired by the Balinese Barong masks (this is likely a mistranslation, as the Japanese word baron (バロ) is very similar). Furthermore, in concept art, Incentas' three sets of hands are named after these corresponding locations – the "Barenke Hands" (パレンケハンド) appear to be a mistranslation of Palenque, an ancient Mayan city-state where Pacal the Great's mask was discovered.
