Innerpeace and Outlands, known as Inner (インナー Innā) and Outer (アウター Autā) in Japan, are terms from the Mega Man ZX series that refer to the safety of a location. The former refers to safe areas, countries habited by people, while the latter refers to a lawless wilderness with dangerous Mavericks that are avoided by the countries.[1]
In Mega Man ZX, areas from the map with a blue outline represent Innerpeace areas, while areas with a red outline represent Outlands areas.[2] Excluding bosses, mid-bosses and story related battles, all enemies encountered in Innerpeace areas (Area A, B, C and D) will not attempt to attack the player while in the base Humanoid form, only being aggressive if the player is using a Biometal. However, they will still cause damage on contact. Enemies in the Outlands are always aggressive.
Innerpeace and Outlands aren't mentioned in Mega Man ZX Advent, possibly due to the game having a different map and enemies having no change to their behavior for different forms.
