- Mantlo and Pak, the two Black Ops soldiers along with Emil Blonsky, are a tribute to Bill Mantlo and Greg Pak, known for their work on books published by Marvel Comics, including several titles featuring the Hulk.
- In the motion comic, Banner escapes from the army in a meeting with General Ross inside the destroyed laboratory in Culver University. In the film, this meeting takes place in the hospital where Betty is hospitalized.
