Pearl Pangan (Earth-616)

Pearl Pangan grew up by the beach on Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines. She displayed a strong affinity for water at an early age, becoming a swimmer full of promise and Olympic potential; however, obstacles in life turned her aside from that path. While working at a fast-food chain, Pearl was approached by a representative of the company AlonTech who had learned of her from her high school's swim team records. AlonTech used Pearl's swimming expertise for experiments, but unbeknownst to Pearl, they were a nefarious organization that was eventually targeted by the Triumph Division. During the Divisions' assault on AlonTech Lab, Pearl was drenched in water and exposed to energies of unknown origin, granting her the ability to control water. Pearl tried to hold off the attackers, but was taken out, eventually learning where AlonTech really stood. The group of heroes took Pearl in and helped her figure out how to use her new powers, becoming a superhero known as Wave.^[1]

War of the Realms[]

During Malekith's attack on Earth, Wave went beyond her jurisdiction into the North Pacific due to a gut feeling that something was wrong with the water. Wave ended up in a confrontation with Shanghai operative Aero, who also felt a disturbance with the wind. Soon enough, however, they figured that they had been tricked by the Fire Giants, who pronounced that their queen, Sindr, had sensed both heroines' elemental powers and decided to lure them away from their homeland so they wouldn't be there to protect it. Just when Wave was going to get an answer about who they were, the Fire Giants were killed by the goddess Tūtū Pele.^[3]

• Water Manipulation: After being exposed to an unknown energy while drenched, Pearl was granted the ability to control any bodies of water.^[1]
  • Water Blast: By gathering enough amount of water in her palms, Wave can utilize it as a means of offense by throwing it towards her enemies.^[1]
• Amphibian: Wave has displayed the ability to comfortably talk and breathe underwater.^[4]
• Superhuman Strength: Wave has displayed enough strength to easily knock out a Sea Serpent in a few blows.^[5]

Professional Swimmer: Pearl was already a talented swimmer during her childhood, and it was said she had olympic potential.^[1]

Swordsmanship: Pearl has displayed considerable skill in the use of her twin blades.^[6]

• Hi-Tech Armor: Wave wears an armor that she uses in battles.^[1]
• Twin Blades: Along with her armor, Wave carries around twin blades.^[1]
