Fastball Special[]

I dispute the notion that this is a Fastball Special. All Warren does is let Laura go while flying, no mention of it being in any way related to the Fastball Special nor is there even any throw involved. -- Annabell (talk) 04:32, August 5, 2016 (UTC)

  • It's little different than the "Deathstar Drop" described on the article page. Warren himself wouldn't be simply letting her go; he still needs to aim her in the right direction since Laura would have little to no ability to course-correct on her way to the target. She's not so much an unguided bomb as she is a human missile. It also appears like he's toss-bombing; popping up above the target to put a ballistic arc on her trajectory, which would serve the same purpose as physically throwing her. In other words she is being thrown, but by momentum rather than strictly muscle power. This would be in line with how Storm and Magneto have performed the FSB, as neither technically threw their partner, but rather used alternate means of launching them. -- Ambaryerno (talk) 11:58, August 5, 2016 (UTC)
I believe it's a bit of a stretch to considering something like that a Fastball Special. The name of the move itself means the thrower has to perform the action like a pitcher, and that the person being launched needs to be thrown, not simply let go. While Storm and Magneto have performed Fastball Specials using different launch methods, those instances were at least called Fastball Specials in the comic, iirc, unlike this case.
