History
Ravian was the sovereign elder of the mountain, and weary monarch of a telepathic Bird-Men elder race. He claimed his race "[spoke] in thoughts" for centuries before humans started using articulated language.
Thousands years before the Age of Kull (circa 18,500 BC), ruling the south of Thuria, the bird-men intended to carve themselves an empire, and went to war with the first true men in the Northern Lands. At the Northern Mountains, they were defeated and their females and brood slaughtered to the last.
The surviving males returned and settled a summit in the unexplored lands south of the continent, cheating death thanks to the Amulet of Ka, a splinter from the talons of Ka, the Bird of Creation.
When Kull traveled down south and asked for the mystic amulet to heal Tu, Ravian was a weary monarch, and was more than willing to give him, to finally rest in peace along with his people. As his own nephew Vultus, still dreaming of past glories, refused to let the humans acquire the Amulet and doom his people, Ravian was forced to slay him. He then gave weapons to the humans to defeat the beast guarding the Amulet.
By the time Kull returned, the Bird-Men had disappeared into death, save for Ravian who waited, declaring that his people's ancient enemy, humankind, had brought them peace at last.[1]Attributes
