Synopsis for "Murder Is the Man Called Mace!"
Continued from last issue... Prisoner of Gideon Mace, Luke Cage once again is caught in the middle of another one of Mace's plots to try and destabilize the United States for his own ends. Luke however manages to break free and escape.
Jumping Burgundy at her apartment, she tells him that she is loyal to Gideon because her late husband Jamie worked for Mace. Having betrayed Luke once more to Mace, Mace arrives and captures Luke, but not before Luke convinces her to check out Mace's records.
Upon doing so, she learns that Mace had been dishonorably discharged from his position. Confronting him with the truth, Burgundy learns that Luke has been strapped to an a-bomb which Mace hopes to use to blow up Chicago in a bid to cease control of America.
This story is continued next issue...
Notes
- Burgundy gets access to Gideon Mace's full military record in a short time frame (a small portion of the day). This is almost unbelievable (especially prior to the computer age).
- No letters page is published this issue.
Trivia
- General William Westmoorland signed Gideon Mace's discharge.
