Synopsis for "Moonlighting"

Mr. Knight (Marc Spector) is in session with Dr. Andrea Sterman and he brings up that she has repeatedly mentioned they would not talk about his D.I.D. When she brings up that he knows why, he asks she humor him and she states it is triage, focusing on the more important concerns related to his mental health. But also because of a firm recommendation from the Avengers after the Age of Khonshu. Thus they commissioned her to work on the parts of him with the greater danger, the Marc Spector identity and not Jake Lockley or Steven Grant. When he asks if he is a threat, she reminds him that he's not after all the time they spent together and notes petulance is not a good look on him, asking he detail his breakthrough. He brings up how it wasn't about the money but controlling the body, control over the things he did and what he built. Marc confesses that talking to his personalities led to them convincing hi that he was wrong and changed his methodology. When Andrea voices surprise, Marc jokes that she finds him unreasonable and now she's suspicious if he's either Jake or Steven. Marc asserts that he is unreasonable, as it is his duty to meet out violence, whilst the other two perform intelligence gathering: Steven with the rich and affluent to Jake running with scoundrels.

Steven Grant took control of the body after Spector created a system of cash wads into piles for each persona. Steven was aghast at Marc's appearance, took himself for a trim and used some of Marc's pile for payment. Steven went to an old barber of his, Michael, who had to give him an extended treatment for a decent appearance, with Steven crafting a narrative that he's been off the grid re-centering himself. On his night, Steven Grant met with Kurt, an old film industry contact, about how super heroes are a big money market, but super villains are an untapped avenue. Yet with the Son of Sam law, no super villain would disclose crimes as they'd be legally prevented from gaining film royalties. Steven counters that said law only applies to American citizen villains, thus possible internationals may qualify. So Steven asked Kurt to investigate and name a pair of characters he hands in a dossier, paying cash upfront.

Marc admits that war requires intelligence and Zodiac never should have gotten one over on him. Now with The Tutor hiring new super-killers for The Structure, they overwhelmed him because they knew how he played while he knew nothing about them. Marc equated himself to a fist, a closed hand for violence, but a fist needs eyes and ears to know who to punch. From that, Andrea asks Marc how Steven and Jake feel being conscripted into a war with The Structure, with Marc admitting to not having asked them. On a rooftop ledge, as Andrea asks what he likes to drink, Marc jokingly asks if she's inviting him to a date. Clarifying that Steven takes Scotch and Jake takes rum, she wants to know what Marc drinks. He answers that he drinks ice cold Vodka, having spent tours in hot climates and it also reminds him of Chicago as his parents used to drink it; plus he wears easily stained white clothing. When asked about the time for each personality having their own hours gathering intel, she asks if Marc has any time for himself and he points out that he has his uses, like taking over in a brawl. Andrea is pleased with his progress and cooperation with Jake and Steven, inquiring how others in his life have taken to learning about his condition.

Jake Lockley hit up an old haunt not seen in a dog's age, meeting up old acquaintances, and catching up with Naomi the barkeep. When she asked where he's been, in part because Big Claude Peeters is still after him, Jake doesn't feel threatened by a frenchman, to which Naomi reminded him Claude's Belgian and gets wrathful when called French. Not wanting to continue, Jake shifted topics to ask if Naomi's heard anything on vampires lately. In a back alley, Naomi fumed that Jake would ask about vampires knowing her brother-in-law, Rueben, was turned and had to lie low for safety. Asking if Rueben hid from a serious hunter, Naomi revealed that it was because of a big vampire outfit in town coercing membership and killing refusals. Making a compelling argument, Naomi told Jake that Rueben was hiding in Chinatown. Doing his own reconnaissance, Jake found that the Tutor was avoiding Chinatown as Vampires are territorial, so Tutor must be afraid of someone living there. However, as he spoke aloud for Steven and Marc to hear, Big Claude ambushed him and beat him into an alleyway. Threatening to take him apart, Jake concurred as Marc took over to continue the fight with Big Claude.

Steven got a call back from Kurt about the names on his targets, although Kurt was uncertain what manner of film Steven can make with the characters. Firstly, Nemean was a mysterious Greek national super-assassin and a skilled Pankrationist, his alias and powers are akin to the Nemean Lion of myth, with footage from his battle with the E.K.A.M. in Athens having left seven dead. Lastly, Grand Mal was an assassin from Carnelia, whose government was massacred and political factions now skirmish for power. Her name says it all as her gauntlets cause seizures when her hands touch someone, like a Dim Mak. Kurt advises Steven avoid them as they're not fun bad guys like Big Wheel, and Steven agrees he will not go near them.

Marc tells Andrea that he told Soldier, who accepted it out of trust and loyalty to Moon Knight as they were digging up a vampire for details on Chinatown. Hunter's Moon, while happy about seeing allegory in Marc's D.I.D. to the Gift of the Chorus under Khonshu's blessings, struck his fellow Moon Knight because Marc seeks alliance with one vampire against another, a great blasphemy. Reese and her friends are protected having committed no evil, but any vampire that controls a part of the city had to become a monster to achieve it, and the Fists of Khonshu kill monsters. Granted they never saw eye-to-eye, Marc continues that he disclosed to Reese about his D.I.D., with her accepting who he is now and being fine with his condition having met Steven. All she asked was that he not try to prove anything with her, finding who he is now to be enough. Following an awkward hug, Reese confirmed if he was still game for Chinatown and Marc assured her he's still set on Chinatown.
