Mandroid Armor MK I

A Skrull posing as senator H. Warren Craddock sent a squad of three Mandroids to arrest the Avengers when they were branded traitors by the Alien Activities Commission. Iron Man used his knowledge of the Mandroids construction to disable them.^[1]

Three Mark I Mandroids and two Mark IIs were stolen by Moses Magnum and used by his henchmen as part of his scheme to threaten the Japanese government into crowing him Emperor of Japan. The X-Men, who were in Japan for unrelated reasons, destroyed the Mandroids and foiled Magnum's plans.^[2]

An upgraded version of the Mark I was built by S.H.I.E.L.D. called the Super-Mandroid. This version was taller than the previous model and featured a new array of weaponry. It was used by Col. Glen Talbot in battle against the Hulk. The Super-Mandroid was strong enough to withstand a direct blow from the Hulk, who only managed to put a single crack in it. The Super-Mandroid was torn apart by Captain Marvel in order to save Talbot's life.^[3]

S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Mandroid pilot Alex DePaul went rogue and outfitted Ares' Warhawks with two Mark Is painted black. These were destroyed by Hercules.^[4]

Despite its history of misuse by third parties, S.H.I.E.L.D. maintained use of the Mark I for more legitimate tasks, such as capturing super powered fugitives,^[5] and guarding government installations,^[6] Helicarriers,^[7] and S.H.I.E.L.D. bases.^[8][9]

The Mark I Mandroid armor provided its wearer with 20 times their normal strength and can reach running speeds of 45 mph. Its weapons array includes stun cannons, an electro-gravitic tractor/repeller that could lift up to 950 lbs, and a 250 watt laser. The armor's life support system could provide air for up to two months. The armor could withstand being 800 below sea level and 70,000 feet in the air.^[10]

The Mark I could be controlled remotely by a transmission beam.^[11]

The Super-Mandroid variant featured an electrified coil stored in the arm, and a blade sharp enough to pierce the Hulk's skin.^[12]
