Synopsis for "Godbreaker"
For the first time in milennia, Drorin Runehewer feels excited to be working on a divine weapon, the codex unlike any material he's worked with before. Sketching a blueprint for a split-bladed Necrosword, Drorin has to remind himself not to get caught up in the fervor and that his true goal is to kill Carnage without actually making the weapon. As Carnage helps work the forge, Drorin approaches Kenneth Neely and asks how the serial killer is doing. Neely replies that he's terrified, Drorin assuring him that the plan is simple and will succeed as long as they both do their parts. Drorin explains the process of forging a weapon, that the Godmaker forge uses the heat from mystical falling stars to forge its weapons, and that the only material capable of handling that much heat is Uru -- something the forge hasn't had since the dwarves working it were killed. Indicating an aperture in the roof, Drorin explains that usually it's only opened just enough to allow a few of these stars in, as too many would risk destroying Nidavellir itself, but they will open it all the way and then use his portal cube to escape. Neely asks what will happen if their plan doesn't work, Drorin saying that if they fail it won't matter where they go.
Crash-landing in the forest outside the Godforge, Jon Shayde picks his way out of the wreckage of the Hjortspring as his symbiote tells him it's just a little proud of him for giving in to his hatred of Neely instead of chickening out and going home. Approaching the volcanic region where the forge is located, Shayde wonders if he can ever really go back after everything he's seen and done. His symbiote asks if he truly wants to return to his boring workaday life, and when Shayde insists that he does the symbiote mockingly states that he's lying to himself. Clutching his head, Shayde repeatedly shouts that the symbiote is wrong.
In the Godmaker, Carnage snarls that the heat from the forge is making it impatient, demanding to know why it's taking so long to forge its blade. Telling the symbiote that forging a weapon is all about patience and proper timing, Drorin gives the signal for Neely to open the aperture. Carnage is abruptly engulfed in the fire of hundreds of stars, shrieking in pain as its humanoid form destabilizes. As Carnage demands to know what they've done, Drorin coldly states that he told the symbiote up-front that it should have left him in prison, mockingly asking if it really thought he'd forge a new weapon. Sneering that only uru could contain the cosmic power incinerating it and that there hasn't been any since the dwarves who worked the forge were slaughtered, Drorin states that if even an atom of its substance survives it would be a miracle. Neely recoils in shock and horror as Jon smashes through the wall of the forge, nervously explaining that he's turned over a new leaf and is helping kill Carnage. Shayde's symbiote reacts with dismay and fury to see Carnage in such a sorry state, seizing control of his arm and reaching out to touch it. Assimilating its offshoot and casting Shayde aside, the Carnage symbiote breaks free of Drorin's trap and gathers the corpses of the long-dead dwarves, melting down and assimilating the trace remnants of uru left in their flesh, blood, and bones.
Carnage emerges from the resulting sea of gore with a demonic appearance similar to Asgardian armor, wielding a bident it dubs All-Blood. Impaling Drorin, Carnage states that it would have loved to torture him to death as slowly as possible, but it promised Hela that it would send the dwarf-lord to her relatively intact so that she could force him to make weapons for her. Casting Drorin's corpse aside, Carnage turns to Shayde, who is now dying without the symbiote to stabilize his body, and mockingly thanks him for his help. Saying it will repay him by making him its new host, Carnage scoops up Shayde and forcibly bonds to him before turning to confront Neely and declaring its intent to make him suffer for betraying it.
Noting that he would have been fine with dying, being tired of the constant terror, Neely spots Drorin's teleportation cube nearby and uses it to teleport to the only person he can think of who would be capable of stopping Carnage from destroying the multiverse. Appearing in Brooklyn, Neely ventures into the depths of St. Estes Home for Boys and asks Cletus Kasady for his help.

"FORGED IN BLOOD" Continues!
• The Carnage symbiote has ambitions of universal destruction and death, the likes of which would make even Knull himself tremble. But unlike the slain King in Black, Carnage has no weapon to inspire fear in the hearts of the living across space.
• Or – not, until now!
