Synopsis for "Haven"
In the wilderness, Dave trains with the Woodsman in unarmed combat, having trained with him for weeks, and he finally beats him. That night, Dave talks to the Woodsman about his past and the Woodsman's mysterious past. Dave's guilt over failing his friends preys on his mind, and he wonders if he could ask the Woodsman to help save them, but realizes he's asking too much. That night, Dave sneaks away, and the Woodsman silently wishes him luck as he watches him go.
Back at the Clinic, Steph wakes up, as her super-fast metabolism has helped her shrug off the sedation the Clinic's heads are keeping her under. Seeing Dexter Charne, she realizes she's in the Clinic, and when he tries to inject her, she backhands him across the room with her superhuman strength. Steph starts to revive Lenore to help her. Harlan Hackbarth bursts in, and before Steph can do anything, he uses his control over others' bodies to make her pass out, and does the same to Lenore when he sees her waking up. He orders the orderlies to tranquilize Steph with everything they've got and says if she wakes up again he'll terminate her.
Dave finds a phone and calls his old friend Sue. She asks if he can come back and help her as her mom is dying. Dave rashly says he will. He hitches a ride on the back of a lumber truck, but as he rides, he sees a car in pursuit. Inside are Clinic hunters who open fire on him with stronger tranq darts than before. Dave jumps off and heads into woodlund, with half a dozen hunters in pursuit. Eventually, he's overcome with too many darts and passes out.
Strangely, Dave awakes in a seemingly deserted mansion. He investigates the house, and hearing a noise, finds four men and two women hiding in a closet. Dave says he won't hurt them and explains there are men after him. They come out and introduce themselves as Walt, Mary Lou, Holly, Victor, Dan and Keith. Dave says he'll leave and not bother them anymore, but he's surprised when they say paranormals are always welcome in their house.
At the Clinic, Steph wakes up again and Hackbarth decides to kill her and starts to squeeze her heart with his power to kill her. Speck and Charne try to stop him, with Charne saying he knows a better way to keep her placid - by using his mental reinforcement power to give her head trauma. He starts to do so, but his power bounces back onto Hackbarth, as he was connected to Steph at the time. Both Steph and Hackbarth are left in comas and Steph's revitalizing sparkles even stop.
At the self-styled ESPeople's house, they explain to Dave that they're all paranormals too, but that their paranormalities are mental in nature. Keith says that he's a clairvoyant and became aware of Dave when he felt a woman (meaning Tracy Speck) entering Dave's mind periodically to see through his eyes. He says he and the others decided to help Dave when they detected this. They relate to Dave how they drove close to where Dave was and Dan, who can control others' perceptions, hid them from the hunters. They tell him how they overpowered all of the hunters using their various powers, then dragged Dave to their house while Dan made the hunters think the woods were on fire. They tell Dave they were all outcasts once who created a safe haven for themselves, and they ask Dave to join them. Dave says he's tempted, but his friends need him, and he asks the ESPeople if they'll help save them. The ESpeople say they can't, as they'd be discovered by the outside world. Dave says he's leaving to help his friends, the ESPeople let him go, but Walt blocks his memories of their existence and instals a failsafe of sorts in his brain to stop his mind being tampered with by anyone else. Dave walks away from the house, out of Dan's illusion and is immediately brought down in a hail of tranq darts. The last of the D.P.7 has been captured.
