Merry Mountain is a track that debuted in Mario Kart Tour as the premier track of the 2020 Winter Tour. This Christmas-themed track takes placed at a village with a mountain section that features a half-pipe. It was the first original non-city based course added to the game, opening up new possibilities for courses not centered around real world locations.
Merry Mountain reappears as a retro track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of Wave 3 of the Booster Course Pass, as the third track in the Moon Cup.
Layout[]
Mario Kart Tour[]
This track has a prominent holiday theme, with many Christmas-themed elements, that makes for an eye-catching design. You start out in a holiday-themed village, where there are many homes, shops, and spectators. After racing through the town center, you reach a section where you have the option to go on either the railroad, or main track. Afterwards, you reach a bridge that leads you directly into the snow, where you make a few turns before jumping off a ramp towards the summit. You then race around a giant U-turn, where a holiday-themed steam engine pulling a sleigh full of gifts and toads will fly right alongside you through the rest of the lap. You then plummet towards the bottom of the mountain, with a few ramps and Dash Panels accompanying you. Finally, you reach the end of the lap where the experience is repeated another time.
Exclusive to this track, there is a super half-pipe that is colored pink instead of the usual blue. With this, a special sound is heard after tricking on it, and a longer boost is gained.

Merry Mountain reappears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of Wave 3 of the Booster Course Pass DLC. It retains many of the original elements, with greatly improved graphics. A new anti-gravity segment was introduced as well, starting just after the last ramp before you reach the top, and ending after the snow ramp at the bottom, with Spin Boost Pillars replacing the dash panels. Speaking of the snow ramp, it now features a glide panel that appears on the 2nd and 3rd laps, much like 3DS Toad Circuit. The Super half-pipe seen in the original has been replaced with a regular half-pipe.
Shortcuts[]
- At the beginning, there is a small patch of grass where you can use a mushroom to cut through the grass.✱ for all games
- Once you reach the U-turn at the mountain's summit, you can cut a sizable patch of snow using a mushroom, which will take you directly to the steep downward slope.
