Violet Passage is a location in Paper Mario: Color Splash. It is unlocked when collecting the purple Mini Paint Star in Plum Park or collecting the purple Mini Paint Star in Redpepper Volcano. There is one Mini Paint Star, leading to Vortex Island. The blue Paint Star is needed to paint the entire ocean so the ship can sail. The Battery Thing and Compass Thing can be found inside the ship.
In Paper Mario: Color Splash[]
Mario and Huey need to go to Violet Passage after clearing Plum Park so they can get the five Yellow Rescue Squad Members from the ship, which is currently hijacked by Shy Guys. Mario will need to defeat them all to save the five rescue squad members. Before sailing through the seas, called the Lost Sea, the Big Blue Paint Star will need to paint the entire ocean so the ship can move. Once completing Fort Cobalt, the Big Blue Paint Star will repaint the entire ocean and Mario and Huey can set sail.
Re-entering Violet Passage after painting the ocean, Mario and Huey need to enter the ship to find 5 journal entries to help Mario sail through the seas that the captain of the ship has requested. Also, in the ship, the compass and battery things can be found, as well as one Blue Rescue Squad Member. Once all five journal entries are found, Mario will need to bring them back to the captain. When the captain has seen all five journal entries, Mario will need to ask all the Toads to put the sails up. Then Mario will need to go to the back of the ship and perform a Cutout and place the Fan Thing so the ship can move.
The first journal entry says: We turned after the smiling mushroom. Mario will need to tell the driver to move the ship forward. When the smiling mushroom appears, Mario will need to tell the driver to turn left. If Mario fails to do those tasks, white fog will appear and Mario will have to face a boss.
