Shave the World is a recurring microgame in the WarioWare series. It first appears in WarioWare: Twisted! as one of the microgames in WarioWatch mode and returns in WarioWare Gold as one of Ashley and Red's microgames.

Gameplay[]

The player has to use an electronic razor to shave off the entirety of the Earth by tilting the system. If the player meets this objective, they win, but if not, they lose at the microgame. In Spindex, the microgame always starts off with eight seconds.

In WarioWare: Twisted!, the Earth's surface is divided into a number of sections that can be shaved one at a time. If the timer runs out, the Earth somehow regrows its water and landmass and flies away shortly before the microgame ends. In WarioWare Gold, the razor moves more smoothly, and the Earth is also always divided into eight sections.

Difficulty levels[]

WarioWare: Twisted![]

Each increased difficulty level divides the Earth into one more section to shave. A different message is also shown at the end of each difficulty level.

  • Level 1: The Earth is divided into three sections, and clearing the microgame displays the phrase "Love and Peace" in green text.
  • Level 2: The Earth is divided into four sections, and clearing the microgame shows the word "Beauty" in pink text.
  • Level 3: The Earth is divided into five sections, and clearing the microgame shows the word "Happiness" in purple text.

WarioWare Gold[]

The differences between difficulty levels were changed from the microgame's original iteration. For gameplay, each increased difficulty level makes the razor smaller, making it so that one less section of Earth can be shaved for each difficulty level, and completing the microgame shows a picture instead of text.

  • Level 1: The razor is wide, and it can shave four sections of the Earth simultaneously. When the Earth is completely shaved, either a smiley face or a woman's face is revealed.
  • Level 2: The razor is medium-sized, and it can shave three sections of the Earth simultaneously. When the Earth is completely shaved, a thick-browed, more elaborate face or a sniffing face is revealed.
  • Level 3: The razor is narrow, and it can shave two sections of the Earth simultaneously. When the Earth is completely shaved, either a doodle face with a stubble or the Baby Face from Mario Paint is revealed.

Game data[]

  • In-game description:
    • WarioWare: Twisted!: The Earth's looking a little fuzzy. Give it a shave and see what's underneath.
    • WarioWare Gold: Who wants all that forest and ocean anyway? Chisel it all away, and you'll have something better--a moon.

Trivia[]

  • The microgame's name is a pun on the phrase "save the world."
