Description[]

Mario or another character can become their Drill form by touching a Drill Mushroom. Drill Mario is capable of protecting himself from attacks coming from the above, drill into breakable objects with his drill, and burrow both underground and into the ceiling. As Drill Mario, Mario wears a Drill helmet and a grey version of his standard form's shirt and a red version of his standard form's dungaree.

The Drill Mario form is the direct successor to when he uses a Spin Drill in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
